COLTIMPALA
Yo homie... is that my briefcase?
So I made my own. This thread is to show progress of how I'm taking a pasgt helmet and hopefully making it into a useful ballistic night vision helmet.
For starters I snagged up an old helmet off eBay, and later realized I already had one laying around. That helmet is in the loadout section of the bst if you're inspired.
I bought the rails and literally used some metal screws to fix them to the helmet. I used the existing holes in the helmet as reference points so the brackets are symmetric on either side and measured off a flat surface.
If you're wondering why the helmet is blue now, it's because black sharpie shows up better on it that the original black/green and blue was the first color I grabbed off the shelf.
I traced around where I planned to cut, then cut the helmet using a jigsaw. It's a slow go but not too bad. I used an angle grinder to sand/smooth the edges after, and then used JB weld marine epoxy to seal the kevlar back to prevent water from getting inside the helmet.
More pictures to come.
