I zeroed my Steyr scout with 168gr FGMM and have decided to go with 165gr Fiocchi Extrema with Sierra Gamekings.

There's not much difference in weight, but the Fiocchi states it's about 100fps faster than the FGMM.

Wasn't sure what I should expect for impact shift. Regardless, I'll be taking it to the range this weekend to fire a box and make adjustments.

My 168gr SMK bullets are like 1.20” IIRC, and my Barnes 168gr TTSX are 1.418” OAL. I use the same powder charge. The only difference in POI comes from me and my mistakes

My ARs that’s are zeroed for 77gr SMKs which are roughly the same OAL as the 62gr TTSX I use for hunting are way different. The 62gr TTSX are about 2.5” high

Like you said, you just have to test it. If the weight and lengths are similar, then you’ll probably be somewhat close. But it also depends on the powder charge, if you use the same cases and primers, etc

Regardless, the info is good to have so post your results. I might move this to reloading

Will do. Not sure on the overall length, may take measurements to get that data, but I don't plan on chronographing the Gamekings, I'll just post the factory observed speed average.

I know the cases and primers are likely different since they're coming from two separate manufacturers (Federal vs. Fiocchi).

Just wasn't sure if I was still going to be on paper at 100 to start or if I may need to plan for greater adjustment.

Shots with the 165gr Sierra Game Kings from Fiocchi Extremas were observed to strike 1-1.25" lower than the 168gr FGMM.

Made my correction to the zero and I'm ready for deer season.
