Wife is going stir crazy and needs to garden.
I need to at least make an effort to break up the soil beside my house so that she can get some planting in

Is anybody able to loan or cheaply rent me something (with delivery)?
I hate to ask, but given the situation with the wife and I having smaller cars, no towing ability, and the stores being limited hours, limited opening, etc - it's kind of hard to get this sorted out.
Also, I had my boss fly in this week, my alternate boss drive in last week, and corporate review of my last 6 months of work for the last 2 weeks... I've been short on time. I've called a few places, but i'm in a bind.

I have saturday off... and maybe monday...

I want to break up at least a few rows for now, and I have maybe a 25'x75' area to work with

well i've been looking, but i'm boned
I've been checking the online inventory for every home depot, lowes, tractor supply, and more from elizabethtown to durham
the only thing i could find at a reasonable price was a $300 one that more than half the reviews were only 1 star due to the BRONZE GEARS in the transmission...

Seems like most stuff wouldn't even ship until the end of the month.
Found a guy on craigslist who was selling one that MIGHT work, would have taken 3 hours driving... but i was set to do it and had an appointment. Unfortunately while both he and I were at work, his neighbor sold it for him to somebody who had previously passed on it.

Looks like I'll be working that shovel and rake today. At least my wife is starting small and I can probably get away with only doing one ~25' row for some tomatoes today...

So if anybody has any ideas for my next day off...

Just Party rentals on Pamalee Dr might have a rental available. Home depot does rentals. I'm going to Lowe's on Ramsey shortly, will see what they have. Sold my tiller last year...buckets are just easier to maintain, water and move if needed....and no weeding.

Home depot said they only had one rental available, and it's $100/day. presumably their price is on par with others. At this point I feel like buying would probably be a better option since i'l probably need it at least a couple days, and multiple years depending on how long we stay here.
And yeah, the rental places i've called have strongly recommended a trailer or at least an empty truck bed for the ones they have (sorry '07 chevy cobalt coupe, this is beyond your meager means). I guess they don't rent much of the smaller cheaper ones.

still nothing to be found on home depot, lowes, tractor supply, walmart, sears, amazon, ruralking
Only a couple have popped up here since i originally posted, but no truck and overtime work severely limits my abilities.
i might be able to buy one directly from a manufacturer, but the prices are much higher that way...

Neighbors let me borrow theirs, but I guess i hit the wrong area of the yard because what we planted is growing very slowly while everywhere else in the yard is overgrowing with grass weeds etc. oops

Go get you one of these...it's my go to tool. I can do a lot more damage to a lot of ground faster with this than I can a tiller.....had both, tiller is gone.
