Does anyone have any experience with one of these pistols. I heard the were a good pistols for under $300. Looking for a truck gun That I can leave it in the truck.. I want something that's dependable but won't cry if something were to happen to it.

Years ago, I had C100...CZ75 Compact clone.
Rock solid, 100% reliable. Regret selling it.
If their current offerings are anything like the one I had, jump on it.

I have the Canik Shark(knockoff Baby Eagle) and TP9SF(derivation of the Walther P99), and they are both solid.
Looked for a shark for a long time. Never found one. Settled for a TP9SA, after they stopped making them.

I have a TP9SA original version. I have a friend that has one, and a TP9SFX. Have another friend that has 2 TP9SAs in MOD2. Few complaints. Good gun, especially for the money. Only real issue is, the finish on some wears EXTREMELY fast. The guy with the 2x TP9SAs... that's the reason he has 2. Bought 1. Within a month, the FDE finish started flaking off. He bought another in black, and sent that one back to Canik. A couple months later, a different color gun shows up (between OD and FDE) with his serial on it. Stick with the black. Have not heard as many stories about the black, no matter the mod.

I have a TP9 SFL I got from an ex member here. Good gun. Runs like it should. Derinitely one of the better triggers straight out of the box. I think you could do way worse for the $.

My buddy just got one. Ill agree the trigger is pretty good. The reset is very good. for me the frame doesn't sit right in my right hand. the notch for your index finger to rest on doesnt line up with my little baby hands... Might just be a me problem, but internally its built very tough. The bore axis is high so if that bothers you, id stay away. Long as you like the feel of the frame in your hands and dont mind the high bore axis, id go for it. Mechanically i think its a solid gun for the money

The TP's have great striker triggers. Better than you can hope for really.

The CZ clones are nice for the money, too.

Well, I am a huge Canik fan. I have Sig's and Caniks. I have the two SF's black and FDE, a SF elite, SFX, SF elite uber Salient version (cant recall the name) that i put a Holosun on. For the money, i believe they are the best striker fired handguns you can buy. I have well over 15K rounds through the FDE SF and haven't changed anything. My Sig P229 legion recoil spring broke at around 9k rounds... I would not hesitate to get one. I think the triggers on the base models are excellent for a striker fired gun, they are very very reliable and the SF points well like a Sig does. The other nice thing about them is a took a Dremel to them to make it fit my hands better and I don't care if it isn't pretty because i paid so little. I know several people who shoot at Apex who have bought them after seeing me shoot and laud them at classes. To a man, they have loved the guns. Shoot one and you may find out its much better than just a truck gun...

I have not had this issue on mine at all. I would imagine a lot of peoples complaints about finishes has more to do with the solvents they use and how often they clean their guns. I usually clean mine about every 2-3k rounds. Typically i don't do anything for the outside except for a silicone gun cloth. My FDE has 10's of thousands of holster draws and it shows shiny metal in many places, but i abuse the hell out of the guns. No flaking of the finish to be seen.

I have a TP9SF as my truck/car gun. As mentioned above, trigger is great for the price, never Jammed and it’s actually a good shooter. Only thing I’m not in love with are the sights.

He carried it daily, after he went to the range and verified operation. Only removed from the holster during range use. Never cleaned, as he had it less than a month.

That's one of the things I liked about it right off. Maybe it's an eyesight thing. I never get clear vision on the rear dots of most pistols anyway and adapt. I got a similar set of Hackathorns for my M&P9C and XDs. Just haven't gotten around to installing them yet.

Most of my guns sport truglow tfo. My old eyes see them better. Just a personal choice.

I’ve shot three different versions of the Canik. All did well. I have the TP9SF and shoot it better than any handgun I own including CZs and Dan Wesson. Solid gun and never had an issue. I would take it when I tested my newest guns because I knew it would be perfect if the new gun had an issue. A great gun for a very low price point.

Not to hijack this thread, but it may add to the validity of it, but how many Canik owners would carry theirs as a " bet your life on it" tool?

I would carry the Canik without hesitation and have carried it. I have shot up to 500 rounds through it in a day in pouring rain, sleet, snow, oppressive heat in classes and never have hiccups. It is uber reliable, I do use grease on my guns and shoot decent ammo but it I admit i have shot a fair amount of steel case through it and it is ate it all. My new Salient version will be a carry gun once i have another few thousands rounds on the holosun 507c

We need to get together and do some shooting! I wanna check out that "Gucci Canik".

I haven't shot the salient version and am unfamiliar with it. I know quite a few with the SFX and they all love it. It's a favorite on r/gundeals and I've seen it on there $350-400 depending on color.

I have two of them. THEY ARE OUTSTANDING. I am serious. They are CZ knockoffs, and are as accurate as any pistol I have. I can't recommend them highly enough.

As I thought of it as a cheap toy, it was reliable enough to be in the rotation:D
