I've got 1200 rounds through my g19 gen5 and will hit 2000 after a class this weekend. I've had zero issues with it, as expected. I like the Lack of finger grooves and don't notice the front cutout when shooting. It shoots like a Glock. I do think the trigger is slightly better than previous gens but not by leaps and bounds. I won't be changing it though if that tells you anything, and I'm a tinkerer. I've also noticed that I don't shoot left with the gen 5 and any stringing seems to be vertical. I don't know if it's the new barrel, trigger or both in combination, but I like it. I'd say if your in the market, like I always am lol, it's worth a look but I wouldn't replace my gen4s for it. It's a nice addition.

If you don't mind me asking, what does the outside of your barrel look like in terms of wear?

The chamber and rifling of my g19 look great, the outside finish of the barrel , not so much when compared to a few gen 4s I have with a couple thousand rds through them. The slide finish is holding up very nicely.

Mine will hit the 1k count soon and the barrel looks like it's had 10xs that number through it with some hardcore smilies, no malfunctions though. My 19 has taken over as my primary range gun, just waiting on the right Ameriglo sights to become available and it'll take over as the carry gun of choice.

I've had the same results with my barrel. The chamber looks good but It has a lot more wear Externally than my Gen 4s. It's got the usual smile toward the front and a second further back on it. The slide finish still looks new. I have no issues carrying it at this point.
I swappped the place holders with some Proctor Y Notch sights and threw on a Talon grip and don't feel the need for anything else. Of course now I'm thinking about getting the 17. It never ends! Hehe

Nice to hear on the barrel there. I think it's just endemic to the new design and finish. Looks line some pics on the firearm blog site also show the same type wear my g19 has. I don't mind wear,it's just different than I've see before with glocks.

No 17 for me, but I'll be getting at least 1 more 19 for sure.
