Looking into pricing for possibly putting running boards on a Nissan NV Passenger (Titan frame). Local auto body shops in my area are clueless. Wondering if I need a truck specific accessories shop.

Any recs on which ones to get and where to get them installed? I'm just outside of Raleigh but would travel a bit.

Thank you.

Trust websites and Google results
vs.
the real life experiences of the truck owners/gun owners on this board...

I'll trust the CFF over the search results I've already looked up. Lots of ads and places to do it, but would rather support a business that people on this forum have had a positive experience with.

nothing personal BOB, but pointless "use the search function" "Google knows all" type posts clutter up forum boards and are generally not useful to anyone except to provide some form of amusement to trolls that is just looking for a fight/rile people up - if this is NOT you, my sincere apology

I'm asking for first hand advice from the community.

The 6 videos I saw on installation of running boards seem straightforward enough (drill 3 holes, hang bracket, bolt in boards), but IME, the videos often leave out important aspects that can sometimes leave those of us less skilled/knowledgeable with something in pieces and a job partially done... requiring further help.

The FB groups I've seen on them seem to make it a straightforward install, but before I delve into DIY, I'd like to hear from people that have either installed themselves or gotten them installed.

Don't know which features/style/brands to go with and would love to hear from people that have vehicles with running boards. I've been told to avoid the rounded/Nerf style all together.

Apology accepted.

Most mount on the pinch seam of the body which is nice cause they are easy to mount downside is after a few years of rust and weight on and off them they can start to get loose there I typically didn’t like that but there was a set of nfabs On a my current model 14 truck that are still going strong but it has not been near the salt belt either . Body mount ones are usually a little harder to install but usually more sturdy

I purchased a set of OEM running boards for my Ram 3500. Price was comparable to other brands and I liked the wider OEM style much better. Installation wasn’t bad. Your vehicle likely has a recessed area where they are installed by the factory or dealer depending on the model and options. A large corded still was a must as the number of drilled holes would drain my cordless batteries.

A few years ago my MIL wanted some on her Cherokee. I try to look after her automotive maintenance items. I have installed running boards before, laying on my back in my driveway. I don't want to do that anymore. The Leonard outdoor storage building & trailer people also sell automotive accessories. I bought the parts from them and paid them to install them.

Any garage should be able to do it but as for getting a accurate price they will have to look at your vehical and the exact set of running boards you are wanting installed. They will not be able to quote that over the phone accurately as there are to many options. Every kit will mount differently. Ten Ten auto can do it and is near you according to your location.
