Will you be upgrading to the iPhone 8, 8s or X in the next several months?

The 8 seems like a pretty small incremental jump over the 7. The X is a much bigger jump, but pricing reflects this. The $1k X is only 64gb, which I can't imagine anyone is going to buy - anyone ready to spend $1k on a phone is going to spend the extra $150 to get the 256gb X.

Poll is flawed. There's an 8 and an 8 Plus coming out, no 8s that I know of. ;)

That being said, I will probably be buying two. Most likely 8 Plus models. Wife and I both have 6 Plus iPhones now. We held off at our at normal 2-year interval to see what the 8/X was all about.

I'll consider the X because it's not the higher $1500 estimate I'd seen. And I've never filled up a 64GB version, so it would be a serious considering to up to the 256GB of either model.

please put up your 6 and 7 for sale here since I am still on 5. The on/off button on my 5 does not work, so airplane mode is my way to shut it off :)

I'm on a 5s with a replaced screen and battery. If any of the new phones aren't the same size as the 5 I will otherwise no.

We just upgraded from 6 to 7 and bought off the 6 to give to my son; he was upgrading from a flip phone to a smart phone as he moved up to middle school. We opted not to go to the 8 and just pick up a couple of 7's on sale right before the 8's came out.

    Having a flip phone means:

    - Never having to worry about cracking the display.
    - Never having to worry about someone stealing my phone.
    - Never having to worry about someone wanting to borrow my phone.
    - Never having to charge my phone more than about once a week.
    - Never having to worry about whether it's going to fit in a pocket.
    - Never having to worry about breaking the phone when I sit on it.
    - Never having to worry about security issues with my phone.
    - Never having to worry about all the software glitching.
    - Never having to worry about dropping my phone.
    - Never having to worry about cost of replacement.
    - Never having to worry about being associated with a group of gay iPhone users.

I just got a brand new 64gB SE in March of this year as an upgrade to my 3 year old 5c. I'm good for another few years or until the 64gB X comes down significantly in price. I learned a LONG time ago to always block iOS updates until it's proven that it won't brick the older models as Apple has done in the past.

Nope, not enough interest on my part at the moment. I went from a 5s to a 7 and will stick with it for another 2 yrs probably. I used to like the latest and greatest but not any more

I am going to get the X. I will be selling a excellent condition 124GB iPhone 6. LOL The 8 is nice but if you are already in for $859 on a 256GB 8 mine as well go for it. I also will most likely go with the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program. 0% interest loan for 24 months and can upgrade after 12 months. Basically making it a lease. If I love it I can go the full 24 and own it.

I look at it this way. What Internet device do you use the most. It used to be my desktop. I would spend $1000+ and it connected to the Internet using a dial up modem or not at all. Then it became my laptop which I could easily spend $1000+ on. If I am honest with myself the device I am on the most is my iPhone. So paying $1000 for that is not a stretch. Shit I have paid $1000+ for some guns that only come out of the safe a few times a year. It is a lot of $$$ but if you look at it in terms use I am ok with it.

Work provides me with roughly a 50% discount once every 2 years. I'm eligible in MAR and I'll look at the pricing at that time.

My wife and I have 6's and will probably stay with them for a while unless Verizon has a killer deal on 7's for some reason.

I am coming up on the end of year 3 with my 6s. Wife wants a 10 but I see no reason as her 6s plus is still going strong

I'm still using my 4S, plan to keep on til I just can't any longer. Honestly surprised the battery still works as good as it does. Tempted to upgrade a few times, have settled for buying a new case instead.

If they offer a good discount on upgrading sure why not. Last ear we upgraded from 6 to 7Plus and lowered our phone bill by almost 40 dollars.

SE here for the past 6 months, used from swappa, and that only because my 5 kicked the bucket. No gratuitous upgrading. I do use it heavily.

Yep. For a very significant % of smartphone users, they spend more time on their smartphone than on desktops or laptops - and most don't scoff at putting $1k into a laptop. So if there is tech budgeting to be done, newer phone, older computer makes sense for a lot of people.

My phone is my computer, personal assistant, calendar, etc. I don't actually have a computer. I use my phone for everything. So the price while high, really isn't that bad. I just upgraded(?) to iPhone 7 plus from a note 4. I think I like the note better. Friend of mine just got the note 8. Waiting on his report on it to see if I maybe need to look at the new note over the iPhone.

I have to be able to charge the phone and make WIRED headset calls from my phone (got my fancy hearing aid corrector box wired into the headset) so I won't be able to upgrade from my 6S until I can no longer hear... so yea. No #courage for me.

It's unclear if any of the lightning splitters actually lets you make calls via a 3.5mm jack... might do, but it might not.

I'm not sure what I have I think it's a 5c that I got from my Mom when my android crapped out. I've had it for 2 years now think so if anyone decides to upgrade and needs to ditch their old phone....I might be game. Honestly though, as long as my phone still works I really don't care. I'm not going to pay what it costs for a new one until I absolutely have to.
