is CFF banning VPN access?

That kind of thing could be happening automatically by the rack space provider or by the web server software, black listing IP addresses from typically unfriendly countries.

Facepalm.... long term IP address banning doesn’t work. It is effective temporarily in dissuading script kiddies and getting them to move on but ultimately you just hammer a legitimate user who scores a win in the DHCP lottery.

Seeing bans for IPs from some western European countries, e.g., France, Finland.

I use Express VPN and I see it on a number of sites (Cabelas, Bass Pro, Little Caesars) but never this one. USAA was blocking Quicken update when accessed via VPN's earlier this year. I wrote a letter to the CIO and told them that they were making my data less secure by forcing me to turn off the VPN while traveling. They called me back and told me they had made it smarter and it wouldn't block me any more. USAA customer service rocks.

Sigh. VPN can be turned off if the site is blocking the proxy. Turn it back on and choose a new proxy. It is not rocket science.

I'm using VPN with no problems even as we type.

My IP address is banned as I type this.

I have hit the banned IP message before. Disconnecting and reconnecting with a different VPN server fixed it. A little bit of a pain, but not bad. No doubt some abuse was happening through the first VPN exit IP and it got on a ban list.

Send a staff member your IP address that’s banned

This is becoming the norm. Huge swaths of vpn addresses are being blacklisted by providers. To many people have abused the anonymity in the past and now the general rule of thumb is that if you're using a vpn you must be up to no good.

I suspect that once some know-nothing inbreed politician gets wind of it (OMG! CAT JUGGLING!?!?) we'll see a crackdown and decline of vpn services in the next few years.
