Update mini-rant:

The latest weirdness is a letter from H. G. Fulton, Supervisor of making me miserable and pissed off. He says I need to call Bonnie (aka census lady #1) and make an appointment "or our interviewer will contact you again."

Ok, waste calls and gas. Whatever.

I think they're trolling you- tell them to piss off and block their numbers.
She shows up at the door, point a pistol in her face and tell her she's trespassing. Call the sheriff and tell them you are in fear of her harming you and that she's stalking you and you have her at gunpoint.
They'll hurry.

Don't point a pistol at her. That's stupid on multiple levels, even though fantasy says otherwise.

Tell her she's trespassing and call the sheriff right in front of her if she refuses to leave.

I'll have to agree Chief on the pointing part , I may or may not have been under the influence of severe sinus headache and certain meds...
But I still wouldn't continue to put up with their crap.

Definitely not even letting anyone know I have a gun on me, much less showing them.

My brilliant plan is not to open the door! People know to call and see if they can come over, they don't just drop by, so if it's someone I know, then I will open the door.

Surely the census people will give up at some point?
 
Well, they didn't give up and not only that, the lady can't read a calendar. Both ladies told me they would call every month on the 19th, and they called today. Wanted to know if I had gotten the letter, and if I would do the survey. I said yes and no. She said she would note that.

I told her I would tell her no each time they call. She said she knew I would. We hung up.

You know, the other census list I got on was for my small consulting business. They called the same day every month for 2 years asking the number of employees and total payroll. Employees was always 1 and payroll never changed. After 2 years they told me that they had randomly selected someone else. It was easier to give them the info than to fight, and it’s stuff the government already gets 2, 3, or 10 times.
