I'm a lefty, but have been shooting right handed AR's from back in the early 90's. I don't have any problems with the manual of arms. But, I have been looking at getting a few left handed AR or maybe some of the new ambi lowers.

I'm a righty. Due to an unfortunate accident when I was 5 my right eye was left too damaged to sight a rifle. Since about 10 I've been shooting rifles lefty. I've never had a problem shooting ARs lefty. Shooting a right handed bolt action is a little clunky to shoot lefty, but even that is pretty easy to overcome.

Sidebar, shooting skeet with someone who I've never shot with is kinda fun. They say I thought you were right handed?!? I say I am, I just didn't want to make you feel bad.

@AR10ShooterinNC definitely worth it, even more so if you plan to shoot suppressed. If you want to test out some left handed stuff, let me know. I have plenty for you to try out. Also have a left handed upper listed for sale. I have too many.

The ADAC lower is awesome as well! I've been using those since they came out.

just so the OP doesn't get excited about having a definitive answer... =)

Definitely not worth it, even if you shoot suppressed*.

I'm a lefty and have owned LH uppers. Yada yada yada....I don't own LH uppers any longer. I shoot thousands of suppressed rounds every year and don't have any issues that warrant the extra cost and parts availability issues. I DO have ambi-safety on every lower and ambi-charging handles. Other than that, I've not seen the point.

*The only exception I'll grant is for suppressed 9mm, .22LR and other blowback type actions. Those are worth the effort, or, just buy baby wipes to get the soot off your face.

Southpaw here. No it's not. Adapt and overcome. All I ever do to an AR is put on an ambi selector and CH. Still faster than most RH dudes I work with. Even the CH is not necessary. Safety is kind of a must IMO.

Most pistols I run in stock RH configuration. Index finger operates mag release and slide release.

Bolts are kind of annoying and I opt for lever actions.
