OK, I've had a bunch of burgers but never one like this.

Anybody have any recommendations for burger restaurants?

The modern rouge is an excellent channel if you're into eating, drinking or man stuff.

My favorite burger is Tipsy's in HP

If youre down towards Charlotte, there's a place Tiki something, if I recall correctly. Was run by the folks at The Penguin before they sold out - again, a great burger.

Melvin's is my favorite all around (in Elizabethtown) and the epitome of the classic American burger joint. Out west I like Jimmy Macs in Bryson City, especially the buffalo burger.

Tipsys in High Point is a really good burger and they fancy it up a bit. Big Ed’s chicken pit does a good bacon cheese burger. Hops in Greensboro is good. I thought the Big Daddy’s place in Winston was overrated. S&S in Thomasville does a Pimento cheese and chili burger thats we’ll worth the clogged arteries.

Emma Keys in Greensboro.
Johnson’s In Siler City
Carolina Restaurant at the Carolina Stockyards in Siler has a great burger also

You will not find a burger of that quality in a restaurant in Rutherford Co unless you make it at home. Which I do! LOL If you have a Kitchen Aid get the meat grinding attachment. It is perfect for grinding meat for 2-4 people.

I like to take some chuck (chuck eyes are great for burgers) or short rib 6 oz, brisket 6 oz , sirloin 6 oz. When I breakdown a whole tenderloin I grind up the scraps and freeze them for burgers or meatballs. IF I have some of that I will throw that in as well. I have also used oxtail as well to add a sort of nutty flavor to it. If you have the meat portion of the burger right the rest is completely subjective and secondary IMHO.

I await my invitation.

Actually Brewsters in Marion does a great homemade pimento cheese burger but they only do lunch and you'll spend most of your lunch hour standing in line.

Do you mean Bruce's Fabulous Foods? I'm in Marion frequently (I was there today) but have never eaten there.

Food and Wine/TripAdvisor says Al's Burger Shack in Chapel Hill is the best burger in the US. I have never been there so I cannot confirm.

I can confirm it's a damn fine burger. Best in the country? I don't know.

I know in Raleigh there are a lot of good options.

Great burgers and wings at good prices with a great staff and location, Mojo's on Glennwood Ave.

Great burger at a dive lunch spot, Jerry's Grill on Whitaker Mill(btw, they buy their ground beef from the Angus Barn).

Great burgers and shakes, but a bit pricey, Chuck's on Wilmington St downtown

Probably the best burger in Raleigh, the Reuben burger at J.Betski's in Seaboard Station. The shoestring fries with paprika aoili make a great combo. Don't skip the house made pierogi and sausages while you are there.

Nick's in Welcome
@DCGallim have you tried this place yet? It's down just before you'll get to North Davidson High, across from the Davidson County Water (but, yet, on the same side of the road as the big water tower)
