John Rich Defends 2A, Calls Out Dierks Bentley, Tyler Hubbard over Their Gun Control Push

Yippie .... take a stand brother.

Member of both the NRA and GOA, volunteered and campaigned for several candidates at the local, state, and federal level that are very pro-2A, and routinely do my civic duty by writing and calling my representatives for the issues that concern me.

How I take my stand is none of your, or anyone else’s business.

Oh, you are so right.

All this infighting about who and how to support or not support. I'm just glad that someone with some name recognition spoke out for the second amendment and countered the otherwise one sided story were getting from the media and all the lefties.

It definitely puts a sour taste in my mouth when I see musicians and actors I like come out against the 2A or for socialist politicians, but it kinda sorts itself out. It seems like by the time they do, their movies or music have sucked in conjunction.

I like Willie and Jimmy Buffet and other guys music back in the day (the before time), but it sucks now, so I listen to the old stuff. - Same with entertainers like Robert Redford and DeNiro and guys like that, old movies great, now they suck.

Then you got the guys that stick to their roots and are still good, like Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, still churning out good stuff.

Stallone flicks are my guilty pleasure.

Wasn’t John Rich the guy that was carrying when the Las Vegas shooting went down? It sure I would have turned the gun over to an off duty LEO, but he had one on him at the restaurant.

And this doesn’t really surprise me much.

What's a Dierks Bentley? Some kind of douchebag or somethin?

Seriously though.... who gives a crap what ANY of these people's opinions are?

If ya'll don't believe or do exactly as I do, or want you to do, you're responsible for ruining the country!

The problem is that some people are unduly infuenced by "celebrities', so they can influence public opinion. Not saying it's right, but it is what it is.

Awwwww,... wook who wuz feewing weft out.....
? I think he was being, you know, sarcastic. o_O

I’m a country fan but how did I miss knowing who any of these singers were? I would think a country star would be reluctant to voice their anti gun views. To many rural folk and cowboy types.

It’s because so much modern country isn’t rural folks and cowboy types, but urbanite metrosexuals that have learned the key words and simple phrases that sound country but represent things with which they have no actual experience.

You know.....folks talking about pickup trucks and tractors from 30000 feet as they flyover rural places in their private jet.....

Guys with $5000 cowboy hats and $3000 cowboy boots that have never seen a speck of dirt.... singing about tilling fields and BBQ and county fairs.

And people eat that shit up.

Kinda like the whole Hipster thing. The GQ version of a rugged. A beard, but too neatly trimmed. A flannel shirt, but it's pressed.

another POS liberal attempt at hypocrisy:

Baby get your shine on, shine on! Baby get your shine on! Baby get your shine on! Strawberry shimmer on her lips, Silver buckle hanging off her hips. I sparkle when she smiles, Shine down on the radio dial. Silverado, candy painted, Ray Ban's got the whole world shaded. Chromed piece tucked in the console. Riding high, roll up on the down low.

I can't stand the garbage on the radio being called "country" music these days. Its just rap with cowboy hats, singing about yeti coolers, cheap garbage beer, and whatever brand of pickup truck sponsors them. Its trash. I fully expect the singers to be out of touch with rural life and to not care about the 2A.

I'm really behind on my music listening. I used to go on youtube, and other sites and actively look up new artists I might enjoy, but these last few years I've just given up on it.

Why I really like Jamey Johnson's music.
He doesn't front, and writes great songs.

I never cut tobacco in the hills of Tennessee.
An' I ain't got a moonshine still,
But I still love to smoke an' drink.
No I never ate dinner from a wood burnin' stove,
Or rode bareback in a rodeo:
You wanna see the redneck side of me,

Give me a six-string flat-top guitar,
Put all you hillbillies in a honky tonk bar.
Show me to the stage an' set me free.
An' I'll sing all night, till the mornin' light,
When your shades are on an' your heads on ice,
You'll know you've seen the redneck side of me.

Let me tell you somethin':
I never was a roughneck pumpin' crude down the line.
Oh, an' I ain't logged no timber, so none them Georgia pines.
I can't mix the best batch of et touffe,
I never hunted 'gators in the everglades:
You wanna see the redneck side of me,

Give me that six-string flat-top guitar,
Put all you hillbillies in a honky tonk bar.
Show me to the stage an' set me free.
An' I'll sing all night, then the mornin' light,
When your shades are on an' your heads on ice,
You'll know you've seen the redneck side of me.

(Oh yeah!)
(Out of me, yeah!)

Aw gimme that Gibson, Les Paul guitar,
Put all you rednecks in a smoke-filled bar.
Show me to that stage an' set me free.
An' we'll raise hell all night, an' then the mornin' light,
When your shades are on an' your hat's too tight:
You'll know you've seen the redneck side of me.
(Yeah!)

Aw, gimme that six-string flat-top guitar,
Put all you hillbillies in a honky tonk bar.
Show me to the stage an' set me free.
An' we'll drink all night, an' then the mornin' light,
When your shades are on an' your heads on ice,
You'll know you've seen the redneck side of me.
Son, you gonna know you've seen the redneck side of me.
Oh.

If you had to live rough to be a Country singer does that mean you had to live rough to listen to it too?

Cause I'm not seeing too many sharecroppers on this forum.
