Kel-Tec Sub2000

No experience personally, but if you get it we could try it out together. Then we would both have first hand experience!

I just bought a gen 2 sub 2000 in 40 (Glock mags), haven't pulled the trigger yet so......

but the kel-tec I have seems to build for the long haul.

I have a gen 1 that takes glock 17 mags. I only have a few hundred through it but haven't had any issues. accurate and easy to shoot. got boring in the 25yd indoor range...too easy to hit targets!

I like it better than my hi-point 995. makes it hard for me to want an AR9...

Get the 2nd gen. It has some much needed upgrades, and it's relatively costly to upgrade the 1st gen with aftermarket parts.

I had the first gen in Glock, 9mm. I liked the concept, but it wasn't much fun to shoot. I'd like to give the second gen a try.

2nd gen is threaded, so I pop on a 3lug and run it quiet

Who has experience with one? I've came across a G17 Mag Gen 2 I'm considering.

I have a Gen 2 .40, and it does the job. Eats everything and is surprisingly accurate. Used factory and Korean mags without an issue. Added the recoil buffer and sleeve to eliminate the smack I was getting.

I have a S2000 G17 version and it is my truck gun. I run a direct thread Optimus on it with Gold Dot 147gr (advertised as 1000fps out of a handgun) and Speer Lawman 147gr TMJ (advertised at 985fps) with no problems and with the 16 1/4" barrel they are staying subsonic. I can keep them on an 6" plate at 25 yards easy and pretty decent at 50 yards even with the less than precise rear aperture sight. I would like to mount something like a Holo Sun Micro but the only mount that allows folding is a Midwest Industries mount that is $100 and a little to tall for my liking for now. A 33 round Glock fun stick (I am not a fan of the Korean made mags) runs just as good as a regular G17 mag. Would a like a flavor of AR9 or such more ... probably but this little lightweight folder is better for me when it comes to a truck gun in a bag that doesn't scream gun and with a G17 it fits even better. Personally, I really like it as a niche carbine and even if I did build an AR9 I'd keep it because of the folding and lightweight.

I'm in the market for a 9mm carbine again, and well, I had the Scorpion, liked it, but sold it cause of some bills that hit unexpectedly. Now I'm back up, I want the MPX, but the price is keeping me away. So now it's the AR9, Scorpion again, or ???

I've got a Gen 1 and it shoots well but hard to aim due to the way the stock and sight is made. Hard for me to get a good cheek weld on and if you're wearing muffs, forget it!

I picked up a Gen 2 for Beretta mags from knifeman at the Charlotte show a while back and I love it. The trigger isn't the best but it's fun and cheap to shoot.

PSA has been spamming me with $400 -free-shipping sub2k's all week. It's a good thing they already took all my money.

I've got a 1st gen and I love it. There's really nothing like it for a breakdown gun. As is the norm for Keltec, it's as ugly as a Yugo, but it runs great .

I have owned a Sub 2000 for many years, 1st Gen model. I have always like the little folding carbine, but that said it is no were near the quality of a CZ Scorpion which I also own. The Scorpion is better in every respect but the folding configuration of the S2K is reason enough to own one for some. And the Glock mag models are also nice for those who shoot and carry Glock handguns. I upgraded my 1st gen with several items including Blueforce front sight, quad rail, tube cover, charging handle upgrade, stock extension, but the 2nd Gen models addressed many of the deficiencies with the 1st gen model. Like all Kel Tec products they keep cost low but using lower quality polymers for the frames and not doing much finishing on the guns, which is way they sell at the price point they do. The S2K's have been way over price for the past few years because of limited production but they have started to come down lately.
