So I just got a CP33 and I love it. I'd love the option to pistol brace it, but they're asking as much for the brace setup as the gun, almost.

Then I found this on Thingiverse, and happen to have a spare KAK brace laying around....

I'm going to get a buddy to 3D print that sucker for me as soon as he has a gap in his endless batch printing and see how it works. After that I'll need to come up with a better attachment than zip ties, but the basic function is all done.

For anyone interested here's the link to Thingiverse, I found a good bit of CP33 stuff on there.

And for tailhook fans there's a couple of things for using those

I'll update this once I get the print in hand!

Also total tangent, but I was pissing about earlier and for a laugh I mounted a Sweet 22 scope on the CP33, because the mount for my Savage Ii isn't here yet. Didn't expect it to be worth a damn but I was able to hold it steady enough to ring a mini IPSC style steel target reliably at 40ish yards on 7x power without a brace. I ended up sticking a Troy Claymore muzzle doohickey I had laying around after finding my fingers too close to the muzzle in two handed mode and also because there was some powder residue on the bottom of the scope body.

This is going to be a fun plinker /critter gun. I stuck the Sig Romeo 5 on there for now, but I was shocked how well the rifle scope worked freehand on a pistol. I usually hate scoped pistols.

OK, it took me a minute to get over to my buddy's and pick the bits up.

Fitting the brace adapter was really simple, all I had to do was snap off the supports and clean up the channels for the lugs on tbe pistol and on it went. It was a tight fit but that's good. It stays on fine even without the zip ties, which is good because I can't find mine anywhere.

The stock has a round peg which does sod all for indexing but fits well. I cleaned some print artifacts off the face that meets the brace adapter and it fits well. I'll test fit it with zip ties and then I'll probably epoxy the tune to the brace.

I'm using the low version of my Arms QD mount and a Sig Romeo 5. It lines up beautifully with the low riser and my fat face. The iron sights likewise are quite addressable, but you're so close to the rear sight it's like standing a doorway and looking at a red dot outside. Not very aim-y.

I'll say more once I hit Walmart and get some zip ties and shoot the thing. I think this is going to work well. Even unzipped it feels solid.

Would be nice if it was a threaded mount for an AR buffer tube. Then you could put a knock-off LAW adapter on it for a cheap folder...

Still cool...

True, but I suspect the threads wouldn't last with the stress of just opening and closing, never mind tactical hardcore parkour. Also FDM threads are usually trash in my experience.

The tube and peg are both chonky which keeps the flex to a minimum even without zip ties.

I'd like to see this with a triangular peg and hole system so it self indexes and doesn't want to rotate but my pc is trash for anything as muscular as 3d cad software.

Also I have ape arms, you could snub the KAK brace up a lot closer to the pistol for an even more compact-er-er package. I'll snap a Pic of that tomorrow in the light, as small as I can get it and still shoulder and charge it.

OK, not sleepy so I did some tinkering. Even with no zip tie holding the adapter and just a mess of hot glue inside the "buffer tube" this feels less precarious than some commercial stocks I've owned (looking at you Calico).

And with the brace all the way forward against the adapter it's got almost no flex (with an adapter friction fitted only) and is surprisingly convenient with a nice cheek weld. I think I need an Mlok hand stop though for piece of mind, even with the Claymore it's still easy to find fingers too far forward for comfort. This may be what causes me to get a can.

Poor man's MP7 fancy picture time!

OK it runs like a scalded cat and was rock solid even without the zip tie. I'm super happy.

Also the print files came with two versions, an in line and a dropped version. I found the dropped version puts more torque on the adapter but I'm sure someone wants it.
