Second time this gun has been brought into my shop. Its a locally made ie "Khyber Pass" special. 12 ga, box magazine semi auto shotgun that has ejection/extraction issues. First time I fired it tied a string to it and wrapped the gun to a post :) Only loads I've fired out of it so far were some 9 pellet count 00 buck. Things that are possible when you don't have the NFA over your head.

"Special" is the understatement of the year! I'm on my phone and can't really tell from the pics - how is the barrel and everything assembled? Is the receiver welded?

Man, some of those dudes over there turn out some creative stuff. Still more reliable than a Century RAS or VSKA! :D

Barrel is actually screwed on and not pressed fitted like a true AK47. Gun doesn't eject the fired cases off the bolt before. We'll see how it fires after this tweaking.

These tend to be called "Khyber Pass" guns but are actually made in the tribal areas of Pakistan's Darra Province. With patience, simple hand tools and iffy steel and heat treatments they make an amazing number of what may best be described as "fantasy" Kalashnikovs and other firearms. The locally loaded cartridges utilize powders made from recycled film stock. (As far as my research showed.) This tends to be low powered and does not stress the firearms too much. I would NEVER, EVER, fire this weapon due to the iffy steels used. I personally have fired a Darra made Makarov copy using the Blazer 9x18, not the most powerful loading in this cartridge. (This was to demonstrate my complete mastery of stupidity by the way.) The result? A total of 5 rds. fired which resulted in a bent rigger guard as the pistol tried to disassemble itself. "Khyber Pass" firearms are marvels of handicraft and ingenuity. They are best admired hanging on a wall. Regards
