Anybody got any experience with them? I`ve read they are either nail drivers right out of the box or group like a shotgun, especially the pre-4000 serisl no`s. I`ve read a decent amount and now I`m looking for first hand accounts of the accuracy, or lack thereof. From what I gather the trick for getting an 82g to hit the target is lapping the crown. One account I read required reaming the throat a bit.

Anyway, I got a decent deal in an unfired, still in the box, CMP Kimber 82g last weekend that I couldn`t pass up. It`s in the 8600 serial range so it`s a later rifle(they only made 10,000) . Probably drag it to the range Saturday if it doesn`t rain too hard. I made a block today that fits the hand stop rail to mount a bipod on it.

What say y`all?

It really doesn't matter what we think. You done gone and bought it. Buy a bunch of ammo and shoot the snotmout of it. It will likely be fine. And where the heck are the pictures. You stink.

Buy a couple boxes of each good target/match ammo and run tests to see what it likes best. Firing cheap bulk ammo might not show you what it’s truly capable of.

Oh that I'll do, lol. Just wondering if anyone had any experience tuning one and what they did. I almost bought one when CMP had them. Got this one cheaper

Plan is to use it this summer at the 100yd benchrest matches in Boone in the heavy aperture class. I shot with them a few times last fall and had a great time.

This weekend will be FGMM and Center-X tests....maybe Aguilla SV

The ones that I've shot in the past seemed to shoot well enough, but I never paid attention to the serial number range(s). Nice rifles, but nowhere near as good as the Remington 40X though

finally got a bit of range time today with tthe 82G....rather impressed for a rifle with peep sights, and in the wind. After 3 boxes of FGMM i got it into a 5-shot group of about 1.75"" @ 100yds. The longer I shot, the better it got. Trigger started off kinda tough but it too got better. I`m looking forward to a scope and a less windy day as well. The only real bummer to the day was with the FGMM ammo at 1080fps, the sights ran out of elevation. Full up it`s centering the group about 1/2" above the bull.

Now to find another Fecker, or a Unertl!
