Anybody have any inside info on that woman popping the troll who broke into her office yesterday? I can't find a thing out. I'm hoping that asswipe who is now the Wake DA doesn't decide to charge her.

No inside info, but here's the story, if it hasn't been posted. There are some follow on links I didn't try.

Knightdale, N.C. — A larceny suspect fleeing from police was shot Monday night by an employee in a nearby office building.

Authorities were called to a Walmart at 7106 Knightdale Boulevard on for a reported larceny at about 6 p.m. when the suspect fled from the store on foot.

Officers chased the man, identified as Deandre Branch, 24, of Clayton, into an office building at 7048 Knightdale Boulevard. Once there, Branch forced his way inside the two-story building, which houses multiple businesses, and encountered a lone employee inside the building.

Police said they are unsure what type of exchange took place between Branch and the woman, but he sustained a single gunshot wound as a result of the encounter.

"The suspect encountered a lone female that was working inside the building. The suspect, in the course of that encounter, was shot," said Knightale Police Chief Lawrence Capps.

Capps said officers were not close enough to Branch at the time of the shooting to witness the encounter.

Branch was taken to WakeMed for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Police said that the woman has been cooperative with the investigation, but her name is being withheld.

I'm really concerned about this woman. That craphead DA might try to make something out of it. This reminds me of another thread I saw on here about dealing with the cops after an incident like this... or for that matter any incident like this. I hope she kept her mouth shut. USUALLY, if it's a veteran cop they will treat her well. Some of these younger guys I don't know about. In the long run it's how the case is written up and how the asswipe DA decides to interpret the report.

According to a story I just read on myfox8, the perp is paralyzed from the neck down. She shot him in the neck shattering his vertebrate. If the DA charges her with anything, he needs to be thrown in jail himself.

Sounds to me like a clear cut case of castle doctrine. He unlawfully and forcibly entered someone else's place of occupation and was justifiably shot for doing so ss it is automatically assumed that his actions at that point constituted immediate and grave harm to the occupant.

Lol just stupid. The idiot got what was coming to him. And have you noticed that everytime something like this happens the one breaking the law, their families always say they are good people just made a mistake. Lol just stupid
To me it isn't even so much a matter of violating "law" but rather they were trying to capitalize and benefit by harming others. That speaks of a mentality that the "law" and legal system can't fix.

Was just posting this below right as 3ought2 's post came up, lol.
"He was only shoplifting. Nobody should die for stealing food to eat"
by some lefty dumba$$ in 3, 2, 1,

I guess the guy has craving for polyester or is a cross dresser.

The man who bused the door after using his body as a battering ram broke the bolt out of the door,
the woman was in her place of business behind that busted door and was within the law to defend herself.
I like that the police did not show her as she was taken offsite, they shielded her with a yellow tarp.

Once...just ONCE I want to read a family statement which addresses the truth...

"Oh that was Deandre? Jah...he had it coming to him. He's been a shit bag for years now and we all knew he'd get nailed eventually. We want to apologize to the victims involved. We're sorry we raised him up to be a thug who eventually turned his criminal ass up on your doorstep..."

I'm wondering if her biggest concern will be from a lawsuit rather than being charged by the DA. Paralysis seems like a strong motivation for the family to sue to pay the medical costs, especially since it appears she owns an accounting firm. It seems to me that a lot of the jury pool might see self defense which would make a conviction difficult to obtain. The facts aren't all known yet making this early speculation so we'll see if additonal information is released to shed more light on what transpired.

Sounds just like 'Big Mike' the gentle giant from Ferguson.

And this is why the anti-gunners want us to be required to carry insurance...so the families can settle with the insurance company.

A guy steals bras from walmart, runs from the cops, breaks into an office building and gets capped in a strange twist of justice, and the woman is the one left worrying about getting arrested or sued.

Sounds about right in this era.

If she isnt charged by the DA (and under currently NC castle law GS14-51.2 section 4...workolace presumption of death or great bodily harm - pretty clear language so not sure how she could be) then she has civil immunity also.

G.S. 14-51.2 section e reads as such:

"A person who uses force as permitted by this section is justified in using such force
and is immune from civil or criminal liability for the use of such force, unless the person
against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer or bail bondsman who was lawfully
acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer or bail bondsman
identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force
knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer or bail
bondsman in the lawful performance of his or her official duties."

Im surprise people arent aware of this. It is a huge part of our castle law.

And why if your door gets kicked in at night, you shoot first legally

I'm not so sure about that.

If I recall correctly, civil immunity applies AFTER a criminal trial in which a not guilty verdict is the outcome. At least, in the states I was reading about.

If you're not criminally charged and tried, then it doesn't apply.

Someone correct me here, if I'm wrong.

The only problem I see is if she shot him in the behind, that means he was retreating. You shouldn't fire on a retreating person, because the threat is not a threat when retreating. I really hope she is not charged.

A local person went to prison for stabbing a attacker that turned to get away and he stabbed the attacker in the back.
I don't agree with what happened in the court system, believe he was defending himself.(in the local case).
