Knock Off Magpul MBUS flip up sights

Wow. As shown in the video @Button Pusher posted, the only clear difference is the yellow loctite.

How are the springs and the locking mechanisms?

*mfw I'm sitting at my dining room table, looking at the counter holding an Rtic cooler, with Magpul Helix glasses sitting on top, knowing I have a safe full of magpul products and not a single Yeti product*

LOL, allow me to clarify. By the comment "Even with serious competitive options costing significantly less some people will still buy based on name alone" I wasn't implying that that was the case with Magpul sights, it may or may not be, I don't know. I was just stating that some people buy based on name alone and gave Yeti / Rtic as examples. Congratulations I guess, you are not one of those people.

Springs and button/locking seem very good. Push the release button and the deployment spring action is very strong. The real Magpuls pictured above are probably 7 or so years old so they are dirty and rusty in a few spots. If the new $20 sights make it 7 years, I got my money's worth so......

The sights in @TriggerMan 's first post have dropped in price and have a coupon right now.

Based on his review, I can see myself buying a "just have around" set.

Yeah, as back up sights that may never see use after initial sight in, seems like a deal.
I'm going to admit to having a set of Troy BUIS that I've never even sighted in under live fire. Instead I sighted in the red dot, then I set the irons to match the red dot. Way faster.

Ordered two sets with the coupon just to see how they look in person. I probably won't order any more because I want to pick up MBUS Pros on the "duty" guns, but at this price there's no risk.

I have a box full of MBUS sets, in various colors. No idea if they’re all real or just. But when I swapped all my red dots for scopes and prisms, I couldn’t use any of the rears anymore…and so I figured why leave the fronts installed.

If you want to sell some of them for the price of knockoffs, bring them to lunch. I can use OD green or black and need at least 2 sets.

Knockoffs showed up. I can’t tell the difference.

It would be interesting to see the structural properties of the plastic. Real versus knock off. I’d be willing to bet it’s an inferior plastic. It can’t all be name brand markup. There’s got to be a quantifiable difference in quality.

Got mine the other day. I just thought they were a cheap generic version, didn’t look close and realize they were knock offs. Haven’t shot them yet though. Anyone see how long they last?

I bought a pair of fake sights and the front post was plastic and warped in the sun. This was a replacment set for thr first set that wasn't wide enough for a standard rail. This was 7ish years ago, maybe the quality has improved. But eventually I realized I'd rather pay 3x the price and support magpul in TX vs a sweatshop in China.

Ordered a couple sets for some complete guns I had sitting around that had no optics or sights on them. These are super budget - I mean dirt cheap when I saw them at a steal of a price.

They aren’t pretty, but for the few hundred dollars I paid their serviceable guns.

Back to the sights…. I have several of the magpul wnd I honestly can’t tell the difference. If I was going to war with them. I would not be buying the knock off. They are just range toys though.
