Kubota vs Bobcat mowers

I despise my Bobcat CRZ. Been one problem after another. And the replacement parts are not standard,(can only be ordered from Bobcat) and warrantee? What's a warrantee?

But you could get lucky.

When I was shopping tractors. Every one I talked to and read about said bobcat will deny a warranty for anything. Kubota dealers on the other have will do anything they can to get everything warranied

I've had a Ferris is700z 61" for about 5 years now. Zero problems. Roughly the same price range. Just give it a little maintenance (oil change, air filter change, lube the zerks) and off you go.

Our local dealer sells both kubota and bobcat, and said they see less problems with the bobcats. I bought my CRZ there. Haven't had any issues, but only had it since last year.

FWIW, bobcat changed ownership not long after I bought mine. Not sure if there are any differences now other than they don't paint them green anymore.

The DEALERS will deny a warranty.

My bobcat is a 2013 61” 29hp Kawasaki. It broke a belt at 30 hours. The dealer said they don’t cover belts. So I had to buy a $130 belt. At 60 hours it broke another belt. Instead of calling the dealer, I emailed bobcat this time and asked them why in the hell my mower was breaking belts every 30 hours and why my dealer is telling me there’s nothing wrong with my mower. Bobcat called the dealer and crawled their ass. The dealer called me and said oh, “hey, your mower has a recall for the deck , we need to add a pulley to your deck”

I took it to them, they added the pulley gave me $300 credit for the trouble. Still has those same belts that haven’t broken since and I still have that same bobcat almost 10 years later with zero issues besides regular maintenance.

Scag......

But if I had to choose between the two you're looking at; I'd go Kubota.

But still say Scag!

19 years on my Scag Turf Tiger and still going strong. It gets the tar worked out of it here on the farm.

You don’t see a lot of commercial landscape companies using Kubota or Bobcat, but you do see them using Scag and Hustler. There is a reason for that….

In that price range, I would check out the Simplicity Contender XT with suspension. Ferris makes the same model with different decals.

Another vote for scag. Only had mine one season so far but it’s a beast.

Find a Wright mower. I also here good things about Ferris. Mainly find a Kawasaki engine in whatever you buy. Bobcat dealers all around me suck. Bobcat does not hold them accountable for their failure to process warranties. Scags are very tough also.

I have a John Deere with a Kawasaki engine. No issues except a carb solenoid bad when bought used.
