Las Vegas…

oh I bet. Get into Paris if you’re close, in the back is a bakery that will distract him.

quiet shopping area in The Venetian also.

We’re at the LINQ, headed to Planet Hollywood for a last minute magic/comedy show. Hopefully the chance to just sit for a bit will do the trick

I enjoyed walking the strip more than anything. There are some really screwed up people to watch

Head over to In-N-Out Burger. Make sure to get it "animalized". We usually stay at Excaliber and walk over.
In-N-Out is great

Me: Ian…wanna picture with the showgirls?
Ian: No….…..and don’t ever ask me that again.

I’m dying! This kid will never treat a woman wrong. He’s just astonished at what he’s seen today on Las Vegas Blvd

It's been a decade or more since I was in LV, but I remember taking a cab to In-N-Out late at night. I thought it was weird to take a cab through a late-night drive through, but when we got there, there were two rows of cars ten or more deep at the drive through, all cabs. Hadn't ever seen anything like that before.

I relate to your kid; I get overwhelmed by the strip. When I used to go there more frequently, I'd always plan time in town together with a side trip to red rock, Hoover Dam, Death Valley, etc. to decompress.

We’ve spent the entire week leading up to today at Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Tanto NF, exploring desert outback, etc

It’s funny how the strip has changed, it is both more and less family friendly. In decades past there were sex workers, and the constant tapping of cards, but the civilians were pretty normal, drug use not obvious, even public intoxication was moderate. Today the freaks on the street have become a business and drug use is prevalent. The city has knocked down the prostitution, but now you get harassed by folks dressed as anything from santa to a sex dungeon mistress that try to separate you from a few dollars or more. If it was entertaining that’d be one thing, but it’s just stupid and freaky, people look in the same way that they look at the dead guy at an accident scene, embarrassed that they even looked. Las Vegas used to joke about how trashy atlantic city was, no more.

Oh, and they removed most of the sidewalks, I hate that.

Did you check out Sedona? North or South rim of the Canyon? Depending on which the slot canyons of Page, AZ is not to much further

South Rim, North is closed down for winter. Took the train from Williams.

We drove through Prescott Valley, Jerome and Sedona but didn’t hang out there.

Wandered around the desert on some State/BLM land south of Prescott near Stanton, AZ.

I had a Jehova’s Witness boss when I was young exactly like that so he‘s not out of the mainstream. Roll with It. It could be far worse.

Oh, heck yeah. I love that kid to the end of days. We’re just polar opposites on the social scale.

I have a 15 year old daughter that my wife worries about because she does not give a crap about other people’s opinions. It will hurt her at some point, but I love it,

I've walked the strip many times from Excaliber to Ceaser's and back many times. I'm still amazed at how close the look to each other, yet the more you walk the farther them seem to get lol. Have you been down to Old Vegas (Fremont Street).

@Tim , I don't think Ian would be ready for Fremont Street. Hell, I'm not sure if you're ready for Fremont Street. It is a freak show! It was my favorite place in Vegas. So much to see.
