Why had no one invented a better after market system for this press?

I really like my classic turret and probably will never get rid of it.

But come on the arm falls off at least once ever 300 rounds and it only holds 100 primers.

Anyone want a million dollar idea? Well there it is.

Arm falls off? How? Why? I have thousands of rounds through my LCT and the primer arm has never fallen off. There's something wrong with your setup.

What does happen to me is that after a lot of rounds, maybe a thousand, the primer feed return spring breaks due to metal fatigue. This is the tiny wire spring inside the primer feed head. They are easy to replace and Lee sells them ultra cheap - in fact, the first time they sent one for free.

Maybe I got a bad one.
It's always not aligned correctly.
The little tab that keeps it out of the way doesn't push it up and when I go to push the arm down the primer slot pushes the arm up and off the press

I actually wrapped a rubber band around mine so that it returns out of the way after each prime. Really simple and can't be any cheaper.

Play around with the alignment it's tricky but when it's correct it works. I had the internal spring wear out as well and replaced it with a piece of guitar string

There some write ups online about fixes for the primer arm hanging then falling out. I "broke" the edges of the slot on the ram and polished the sides of the arm itself. It helps tremendously. I also found that using a dry lube or running the inside dry helps prevent the arm from having some stiction which will pull it out too.

Since I deprime on it the debris can cause it to start hanging up eventually. Out of habit, after each session (typically 500 or so 9mm) I blow the channel and ram out with the compressor. It's rare that the arm falls out any more with these few mods and maintenance details.

For the cost I love my classic turrent, it works great for plinker pistol loads. That I had to fiddle with it means nothing to me as the whole thing goes for Not much more in price as just the conversion kit on my Dillon:D
