Lee Pro 1000 Review

Throw that stuff in a box and get me a shipping quote.

I can always find a use for something even if it belongs in the trash lol

It has aids. If someone already has this strain of aids I suppose I could give away parts, shell plates etc, but I can’t spread the disease. I will pull it out of the trash, really should recycle the metal parts.

Man I love my Pro 1000. I'll take anything you have for it.

Bleach will kill it, plus I have a lee press that hasn’t let me down yet.

Seriously, broke or not I could use another press to tinker around with

I’m not gonna spend the time to ship it, but if anyone wants it they can get it in Waxhaw or South Charlotte this weekend. Could also meet in the same or near 77 and Tyvola near the airport next week at lunch time.

If nobody wants it I’ll send the parts to Stick Man in a MFRB next time I’m going to the post office.

I'll take it.
In the name of...
...Science!

While I am there, if you know a place that sells primers at a decent price, I would be quite obliged

well dang lol. That be a bummer since your so far away lol

Did you replace it with something blue?

Well my hope for it was to add a case feeder and just set it up to decap before tumbling, but it failed. What I really want is a single station progressive with a case feeder.

The closest thing in blue would be a 650, and that’s kinda wasteful. I have the red progressive up and running well, but I hear that it goes to crap when it gets dirty so my success with it may be attributed in part to decaping off press, so I’d hate to convert it back and forth and make a mess of things. Could buy the 650 and use the red press for processing brass, but even that seems wasteful.

For now I’m using the FA hand deprimer or the co-ax. I’ll readdress the issue when the brass buckets get full again!

Did you sell the SDB?
For me, it works super gooder for pistol.
Easily keeps me in pistol ammo.

I'm cool with the 550b for rifle and single stage. (I have a cool single stage conversion for it.)

I still have the SDB and something like 6 caliber conversions for it. Was a little rough at first, but after breakin has been great. By breakin I think I mean that my movements became smooth enough that it doesn’t f-up the press. When I want to crank out a pile though I’ll run it on the LnL with the case and bullet feeders.

Just so everyone doesn’t think I’m a complete idiot, I’ve only made the decision to buy a SDB and a Co-ax. The Lee, a Lyman turret, the LnL, and a couple presses for swaging all came from an estate buyout and I’m slowly deciding what works for my process. Now that the Lee is gone I’m trying to decide what to do with the Lyman turret. I used it to pull a bunch of bullets the other day, that it turns was a distinct disadvantage vs say a Rock Chucker. Maybe I’ll try loading some 45-70 on it, or process some shouldered rifle brass.

All fun stuff!

Which ties in to... thank you for the press and all the extra stuff. I feel humbled for being in the presence of such nice bloke. :D

I have not set it up yet -- living in an apartment limit my options -- but I will come up with a clever setup. When I do I promise I will post an update in my adventures. o_O:oops:

Thanks for the kind words, sorry that I didn’t have time for a drink or a bite. Good luck with it, and maybe build a reloading bench in a kiddie wading pool so you can catch at least some of the spent primers.
