Left Handed Forum

For what?

*I'm a normal person so forgive my ignorance
For left handed shooters ;)

Personally, I am curious how many there are on the site and how much discussion there would really be in a a whole forum just for left handed shooters
I think it'd be like a "Women Shooters" section - a lot of nothing.

@rantingredneck and I were discussing left and right handed shooters yesterday

And you know that because... ;)

Im basing that on an old forum many of us use to be a part of, had a woman's shooters section that was a joke, almost no one at all/lady posted in it.
Just another area to scroll past with no traffic.

As a leftie I know it's a royal PITA to purchase holsters, as well as pistols. If they don't have an ambidextrous safety I am very hesitant to buy one. And I always check to see if there is a LH holster available (screw custom holsters! too expensive!) and if there is no LH holster available over the counter or online I generally pass on the firearm. Why waste my money on a gun I can't carry except around my neck on a piece of twine.

I've grown up with RH rifles and shotguns and they really don't bother me. In fact, I've only owned one LH rifle and I got rid of it because I am so used to RH long guns.

I doubt there is a need for a Leftie forum except maybe to let folks know what after-market merchandise is available for certain models of pistols and the like.

Thereā€™s one of them here on CFF as well. Last post was 4/17/18.

Women, in general, do not enjoy participating on forums. The old place allowed access to all members and in many cases the responses by male members were confusing or demeaning to the few ladies who posted there. That's why it is access only here.

Yes, I have tried to draw interest to the forum but there are so few women with interest in the forum concept. I became weary of researching and posting content that garnered little or no response.

I was just wondering if there would be any interest in or possibility of a "Left Handed" forum here on CFF.

Mike

I can't tell if you got your answer or not. ;)

I shoot poorly left-handed . . . which would be a whole lot less of an issue if only I were right-handed. The way God put me together, I'm just lucky I'm not cross-eye dominant.

I can understand that , I have seen it on several firearms forums. It is a sad commentary on the firearms community.

Well, I'm interested in the forum! But not a lot was happening in the ladies part, and so I just quit looking. It is a shame that more of the women don't get into posting and all, because it's fun and I have learned a lot!

As a shooter who is naturally right handed but left eye dominate, I learned to shoot skeet left handed using right-handed guns. I can also shoot reasonably well right handed as a result. I then took up pistol and IDPA, surprise of surprises, some stages require "weak hand" and some strong hand only. Well I am not sure which is which anymore. Now moving to long range shooting with a dream of competing in PRS and NRL I am having to work on weak side shooting there as well. Again, not really sure which is which as I seem to stink equally from both sides.

All I can say is that I am thankful for my affliction, even though I have learned it is not especially rare. I am even more thankful that now I can come out of the closet and declare that there should be an "AMBI" or "undecided" thread!!!!!!

Kidding!!!!!

Yes left handed holster can be a pain to find and nobody makes lefty shooting shirts anymore, but otherwise, I like the fact that I can shoot lefty around the left side of cover and righty around the right side. The only problem is there is no such thing as a truly ambidextrous mag release. A fact lost upon me until I first tried it in competition and found the mag release on the wrong side as were my extra magazines. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I've said every time I've made a LH holster that I'll never make another one. Almost every holster I've offered for cell as "in stock" is because I cut it out & started it as a RH order & it should've been a LH. It's completely foreign for me to make a LH model, I just can't grasp the idea.

Well... if anyone is interested, I do have 3 LH holsters available for a Ruger SP101 2.25 in. in the Accessories BST section.
I'm just sayin.' :D;)

Iā€™am a lefty, revolvers, pistols and everything else in life is done with my left hand. Only exception is when it comes to long guns, Then I am a righty, this goes back to when I was a kid, the first long gun I ever shot was bolt action.

As for adding a lefty sub form, not sure there is a need.

Left handed, shoot rifles, shotguns and pistols right handed. Am left eye dominant. Makes for a totally screwed up life. Can pretty much switch hit with pistols, but don't think there would be enough traffic for a subforum

I shoot pistol right handed, rifle left handed, no I'm not ambidextrous thats just the way I taught myself when I was a kid. I'm right handed left eye dominant.

It makes some of those kool looking bullpups hard to shoot. And people look at me funny when the shells eject from the wrong side of my Ruger CX4.

So if there were a Southpaw forum I would hit the "Watch" button.

Not a one of y'all are truly left handed cause none of you have addressed any of the issues that plague us lefties....
Using scissors
Writing without getting ink on your hand
Spiral bound notebooks

And to @gunbelt point.... I have sold many a gun that I was never able to get a holster for.

Lefty firearms & such.
Not leftist/commie politics

Mike
Kinda figured, if you were looking for leftists, well that already exists amongst the chumps at "the other site" well not 100% leftists... they all swing both ways with everything

My thinking is the only holster maker that can make a left hand holster would have to be left-handed himself. It's just to foreign a concept for righties.
