I think it has grown on me over the past few days. I wasn’t a huge fan of the controls when I first picked it up, but the more I play with it, the more I like it. It’s definitely my favorite compact light I’ve used so far, compared to the APLC and XC1.
Honestly, I dont like the 7 as much as I do the 3.
I cant do momentary on/off with the seven and I dont like the strobe function at all (personal preference).
With the three, I can manipulate the swith one way for momentary and the other for continuous.
I would gladly swap my 7 straight up for someone elses 3.

The 7 has strobe function? I haven’t noticed that on my 7. My TLR-1HL and Protac 2 both had it, but I disabled it, because I’m not a fan of it either.
Nah man. Ps idk how to make mine strobe lol. Just tried it. I just wish I could make it momentary only.

The Cloud Defensive lcs is so worth it! My next light for my soon to be built at pistol might be a Cloud Defensive OWL it’s pretty sweet looking.

Haha, same here. My wife just gornoff work and walked in and I’m aiming in at the wall trying to make this thing strobe.
I ordered mine super early I thought. Had it for several months now.

I had to download the manual and heres what it says abiut strobe:
The TLR-7® and TLR-8® ship from the factory with the strobe mode disabled. To enable strobe,
starting from the “Off” position, tap either switch very rapidly 9 times (within ¼ second per
tap) and hold down on the 10th time. Hold the switch until the light turns off (about one
second) which indicates reprogramming was successful. Repeat the procedure above
to disable strobe mode.
And, hey, look...I learned somethin new while I was at it! It does have a momentary function lmao.
Hold down the switch for momentary. However, you have to hold it diwn a little longer than the 'flash' Im looking for and if you let up too early, it stays on.
Still think Id prefer the three.

Ok, I knew how to do the 10 tap programming as I’ve used that to disable strobe on all my other streamlights, but with them shipping it already disabled, I guess that’s why we didn’t realize it had the capability.
Here’s that Cloud Defensive Optimized Weapon Light. Really cool pressure switch and body in one piece and fits with BUIS. It’s in preorder now. Supposed to be 1200-1500 lumens on one of those rechargeable 18650 batteries.

Every time I've tried them they just get so fouled from dirty ammo that I've not had much use for them.
But I have to say this one has me intrigued.
Called the Merklight X series for use in freefloat handguards.

What kind of lights have you tried? I have my rifle light mounted right next to my brake, so after 100 rounds or so, it does get pretty dirty. Not really a big deal though, just give it a wipe down after each range session and it’s good to go. Also if you wipe a small drop of oil on the lense, it makes carbon wipe off very easily. Of my pistol lights, I can shoot hundreds of rounds of the dirtiest ammo and never have any issues; especially on lights like the surefire x300’s that stick out past the barrel.
Only dry firing (got it last week) I am doing a Defensive handgun II class tomorrow and sunday, so it should get a workout.
