Let's build a bridge

And still built faster than the I-40 expansion in Raleigh, or the I-95 expansion. Or any current road project.
They've spent most of this year adding a couple of driveway entrances to the slip road to 29 I travel daily and they are still not done.

If The Battery Oaks Custom Shop had been involved in that, we would have stopped as soon a one vehicle could get over it. FINISHED...where's my mooonaaay!

In Horry the DOT started a 4 mile road widening on an existing road at the same time Fleur Daniels started a 28 mile long, 4 lanes wide highway through the Horry Jungle.....guess who finished first and 8 MONTHS ahead of schedule?????
FD did the same in Greenville, SC years ago with the 385 loop.
Ahead of schedule, under budget.

Amazing how the old tech is still enduring the test of time. While not terribly quick, it was built to last.

We’re on vacation in Italy right now and the entrance to our villa was made in 1745… and still going strong.

Not all that amazing really. They wanted it to last and took ever how long it took to build it without a lot of concern for how long it took or the budget. They just built it. Plus no chinesium involved.

Wait until you hear about these guys called the Romans!

It's funny, because I once heard that Americans think 100 years is a long time and Englishmen think 100 miles is a long way. I've found it to be very true. My senior school music class was in a maltings that was already old when the school was founded and took it over in 1558.
