Let's drop the weight challenge

Way to go!

I, on the other hand, have fallen off the wagon and can’t seem to climb back on it. Even with the motivation of knowing I have a physical coming up that can affect my health benefit costs, I just can’t make myself go to the gym, eat right, stretch or even just hit the heavy bag at home.

I think I've posted several times in this thread and within a few days, I've gone the opposite direction.

Let's try this again...

I'm eating (insert whatever the style is called now) because for me, it works. I'm limiting my carbs and eating higher fat. I've also stopped drinking beer and coffee. That's not necessarily for my weight, but for my liver and BP. I was drinking way too much of both. I've also eliminated almost all sugar. It's difficult to get away from it completely when they put it in your ketchup, etc., but I'm not eating donuts and butter cookies at this time.

Jan 2, I was 185.0. Friday morning, I weighed 178.2.

I would like to be around 155 before summer.

I'm finishing up a diet break today, hitting the cut again tomorrow. Going into a scheduled deload week.

On the diet break I stayed pretty close to the BW I was at, may 5 lbs up, but will know tomorrow. Moved some good weight, hit some PRs, but could stand to get some recovery. I'm feeling some soreness in my legs over the last few weeks.

Ended up 5.5 l s down as of this morning. I'll take it!

45.5 lbs down, 30 to go to reevaluation.

My weight fluctuated this week, but I am down a little over pound today. So, still losing.

Twenty two lbs to go to reach 155.

Gained a little after being home from China. I kind of expected that. I lost 20 pounds in 58 days. Too much too fast and both my wife and daughter said I looked sick and malnourished, not healthy and fit.
Getting back to healthy eating.
Also I'm coaching my wife in the pool now. She is a new swimmer. Teaching her some drills to help her build her swimming strength and technique. She did 2/3 of a mile on Sunday.
It feels good to be home and do so much more with my wife. Sharing fitness activities, bowling in a league, hitting the weight room, swimming.
The weight will go back down again. But at a safer rate as I tone and maintain muscle.
10 pounds a month is too fast to not lose lean muscle mass too.

I appreciate it but this is deeper than external motivation will cure. I need to find the desire again.
Ditto.
Sustained Motivation has to come from within.
My internal motivator was a number.
75.
That was my score in the sleep apnea test.
I stopped breathing for 10 seconds or more, 75 times per hour.
Weight related obstructive sleep apnea.
I weighed 310# then.

I have kept up with the exercise very well. Every day I am in the office I spend at least 70 minutes in the gym, and am up to running 6 miles. I have signed up to run the Spartan Super in concord here in May, and am planning on doing the Sprint I Asheville in August, and the Beast in Spartanburg in November to complete the trifecta for the year. I am also going to try to run the Carolina Run and Gun in may if I can.

But...I have failed miserably in the kitchen (as they say). I have actually gained around 10-15 lbs because of the holidays and basically failing on the self discipline. I like to eat...cant get around that as easily as I had hoped. And I have a tendancy to eat "empty" calories. Sitting up late, grabbing snacks while playing video games or watching movies. The "bored" eating that accomplishes nothing.

May have found my desire again. Went to the gym Friday, Saturday and yesterday and am planning on going Wed-Fri. I had tried switching to an upper/lower split 4 days a week but the upper workout take about an hour and a half and I just don’t have that kind of time except on the weekends, so I am switching back to my old plan starting on Wednesday. Done 4.5 lbs since the 7th and hope to get another 5 lbs in the next two weeks so I don’t get dinged during my health check on the 6th

I know I have. Part of it is the season ( hate exercising < 40 degrees), torn ligament/tendon in left hand so anything I do is lower body...I am not gaining, but neither am I losing....

Still working hard, but getting a bit frustrated with not seeing much in results. Still seem to be hovering around 255-260.

I've added running/walking on the treadmill (for now, when the weather breaks I am going to run outside) to try to get rid of some fat.

I'm looking harder at my nutrition, eating about 22-2300 Cal a day, and wondering if it's not enough. Looking at also some meal prep with homemade power bowls, just working out some details before trying to make them. (Picture attached of my ideas, please feel free to use if it will help you, I just ask that you please let me know if it does help!)

Keep an eye out for the Carolina Bundle (or something like this). It allows you to run in any 2 races in North or South Carolina for a discount.

Just what I saw but the Beast is totally different atmosphere than a Sprint or Super. They will have an Ultra running at the same time (Beastx2), so you will have to give up your spot on an obstacle if an Ultra racer comes up. There wasn’t as much helping or general comraderie that was seen in other races. Not a bad race environment, just different

Started keto 2nd week of January as an alternative to adding another diabetes drug that and the fact that I gained 5#'s over the holidays. Have already stopped taking 1 diabetes drug since going on Keto. Have a bone spur in left foot at Achilles tendon with surgery scheduled for mid Feb. Cant walk much now or for the last 18 months that I have been going thru treatment protocols to make the insurance company happy. Facing a minimum of 2 weeks with no weight allowed on affected foot. Then 10 weeks of rehab. Hope I can do keto for the whole time and then weigh in at Drs office and get an atta boy.

I missed my goal of losing 10lbs in January, but not by much.

I started at 185.0 on the 2nd and was 176.4 on the 31st. I had been as low as 175.8 during the last week, but just didn't hit the mark by the end. This morning, I'm 173.8.

Still basically meat and veggies. No beer (except for last weekend's camping trip), no morning coffee except on weekends, and it's black. No sodas, only water.

Last week, I made a tub of clarified butter that I am frying my eggs in. I also poured some over my T-bone Friday night.

An example of yesterday's meals: Breakfast was 3 strips of bacon and 4 scrambled eggs, cooked in the bacon grease, with a dollop of sour cream mixed in during scrambling. Lunch was a half pound arby's roast beef sandwich, just the meat. I gave the bun to the neighbor's dog. Supper was about a half pound of bbq that I had made from a small boar I took in December.

For dessert? Well, I'm not a big sweets eater, but my wife got a dessert idea from a coworker that consists of 16oz of heavy whipping cream and a box of sugar free chocolate pudding/pie mix. Blend together and partially freeze. That shiznit is gold. I'm becoming addicted to it and that's not necessarily a good thing. Lol.

No exercise, so far. I've never been motivated enough to start with anything and stay on track.

My goal is 155. I got as low as 145 the last time I did this, but my wife complained that I looked sickly. Guess I won't do that again.

Well, when all this mess with my ex started, I was 305 so a week before Christmas.

Got weighed today, I’m at 263.

Haven’t been following Keto to the T but cutting out starches has helped a lot. I do have a fatty day ever saturday.

As I posed a while back, I am still going strong every day, but over the holidays I had gained some weight. I still hit the gym every week day for 70+ minutes of cardio. Today, for the first time in a few months, I did 35 mins of cardio and a weight routine. It sucked. I left my headphones at home, so I had to work out with no music, no Netflix, nothing. It had been so long since I did weights I had lost a good amount of strength and every exercise just made me angry. Hard to explain, but I was angry at my weakness. And I was angry at all the people I hear on a daily basis around the office who say stupid stuff like "Well, I walked around the park for a bit..." and the proceed to suck down a pound of Chinese food like they have managed something special.

Yes, I am becoming one of those irritating gym people who gets irritated by people who see a gym trip like a social event instead of something to work hard at.

Not weighed myself in a while. Dont want to...scared ha.
But, as I stated in another thread, I ordered my exercise cycle. It's very much like a real bike as far as positioning.
I'm excited to get it in and start getting some pedaling in each day.
I will lose some weight. It's just hard to get out and walk/jog or bike when it's chilly

Went for a 5+ mile walk on Tuesday evening after work. I look forward to doing that more once it warms up a bit

In January of 2019 my weight was 330lbs and i could walk any distance under 3 miles fine but no jogging.

Today Feb 7th i am down to 315lbs and can run a whole mile in 10 mins 45 sec's .

My goal is to get to my playing weight between 265-280 and i will be very happy.

After tweaking my back at the Spartan Beast the weekend before Thanksgiving and following that up with 3 consecutive rounds of golf over Thanksgiving, I have been living the lazy life and got up to 250.2 lbs. I finally got to the point where I could make it to the gym and work out with minimal pain 3 weeks ago. After my health assessment at work yesterday, I am down to 245.7. My weight number isn’t my main goal (body fat is the main driver) but I would like to get down to around 225-235 and <16% BF.

So the plan now is to lift 5 days a week (M-F) before work and stretch/body weight HIIT at night

Sunday i did the first 2 mile run in over 10 years non-stop, oh and i am down to 311 lbs .that might not seem like a huge drop, but let me type this out.

In 41 days i have lost a total of 21 lbs. That is 6.34% of my body weight gone.

To put it another way, i was 311 lbs in 2010. So i have lost 9 years of fat in 40 days.

If i loose another 6% in the next 40 days, by the week of March 11th, i should be around 291 Lbs .

195. Too much over the weekend from my wife’s BDay. So back on the saddle this week.
My little dude had his birthday this past weekend as well, and I pigged out as well. Gained back about 5 lbs over the weekend, so getting back to the diet and cutting down. Still having some consistency issues getting past 255. On this one I'm going for the push to 240, or better yet 225.

ETA: on the plus side I was asked if I had been losing weight because I am skinnier, so it's more of a recomp than a cut. I'll take the compliment!

My bike came today.
Half hour later it was put together and adjusted to fit me/comfort.
Did thirty minutes tonight, I'll do more in the morning before jumping in the shower.

I'm really excited!

Bikes are fun! I enjoy mine when I do ride it.

i find bikes terribly uncomfortable in my nether regions and Ive been thru 4 different seats but I could ride for 30 minutes. My wife rides 20 to 25 miles a day when she rides. I went back to walking then my Achilles starting acting up. Going to get that fixed tomorrow.

I like cycling, indoor and out
Im up early. I'll waste some time on here for another 20, but by 4:30 or so Im hitting the cycle for a while before I start my morning getting ready routine
