Let's see your home gym

Are you actually looking for a seated lat pulldown machine, or just an adjustable pulley system?
The price range depending on what you want is pretty wide.

My wife found a whole machine on Craigslist for $600. I told her it wouldn't fit in our setup.

I am looking for a pulley setup now, she says that's the only thing she really wants to use at the gym.

That's a great deal. Its just a little bit wider then I can fit in the spot I have for it in the garage.

Latest diy gym hack - pylo box/seal row platform. These things are supposed to be rock solid. Saw a guy with 750lbs static weight on one then jumping up and down and it wasn't budging. $25 each at Lowe's.

Only complaint is that I don't have full RoM. I may get a trap bar to help with that.

We just moved. This is still a work in progress but we are very happy with it. Even with a home gym the buying/selling process and having a new baby helped me gain the Covid 20 šŸ˜’

Edit: We like CrossFit. I almost forgot to mention that. There..I feel better now. Us Crossfitters are almost as annoying as vegans.

Nice setup! Wish I had that much room...

I have a few barbells, a medicine ball, I built a pull-up bar outside. I ruck and have an exercise plate carrier. I have pieces of wood and rocks out back that weight anything from 20# to >300#. I wish I had 'a garage' for 'a garage gym.'

My workout venue....
Been building this, every weekend for the last 4 years. I just turned 61, so that's more than enough exercise for me! Not bad to have only suffered 3 busted ribs and one framing nail to the finger in that time. But, my "get up and go" has "got up and went".

I have a roughly 250-300 pound mill stone that belonged to my Dad. Sooner or later Iā€™m gonna make a 50 foot run with it from the ground. Sucker is awkward to pick up and lap since itā€™s so round, flat and dense.

I had 3 steroid shots in my low back yesterday. Burpees, squats/lunges, running are all verboten as I fend off back surgery. PT and doc says lift weights. The COVID-era costs are up there, so looking at a mixture of bands and dumb bells.

What are some ideas for a home gym??

I bought resistance bands/cables and pull-up assist resistance bands.

Thinking about adding a couple kettles and a bench, and I think that'll be about all I need.

We added a second rack since weā€™re always tripping all over each other! Weā€™re growing and expanding over here!

I also spent too much on my first one. 3ā€ x 3ā€ tubing is overkill. They offer a ton of accessories but theyā€™re pricey and honestly I can remain competitive without them 58E32A1F-9D65-4BEB-BEF1-E9EF33C5A54D.jpeg

Was going to recommend the Mt Dog band pack from elite FTS. Anyway, check out the Mountain Dog you tube channel John Meadows has a band video series he made last summer has some good ideas.

I like that Norse fitness banner.

Thatā€™s a great pack. I need to replace my minis. They take a lot of abuse.

I have some ā€œaverageā€ thick bands. Holy crap. I can hang myself upside down by my hips with those and barely stretch them.

Can you show me? I went to the site, and these are what I see:

At this point I'll likely not buy more bands right now, but I do want to know the better brands so next time around, or if I need to go back and buy singles, I have a reputable shop.

That's them, the mountain dog pack is down near the bottom of the page.

I have them they seem decent. I have a couple from Amazon as well, snapped one of those which is why I paid more for what I hope is better.

I love that the weather is coming around! Dragging the conditioning work outside. Farmers carries and sand bags.
Also...my son turned 18 so it was time for the gift that keeps giving...C620C2EA-5359-4AB9-B77B-30898B23C7CB.jpeg
