Just to be upfront I have a line of Reactive Targets in the market place now. I offer three sizes. I am interested in expanding the line for 2023, but I want to offer something someone would use (buy) and not just some more same old stuff.

So this poll is a attempt of me doing a simple market survey of CFF and see what you all think.

Thanks

Would you mind clarifying the type of reactive target... splatter, steel, hit indicator etc... Personally, we buy bulk splatter targets as they are easy to see at range and offer instant feedback. One of the private ranges we use also has 12 steel targets and then go paper plate/ cardboard style for about everything else.

I updated the title.

Thanks

Don’t know if it’s possible or not, but to satisfy my own curiosity, I’d like to see a demographics breakdown of who purchases these types of targets the most. My gut tells me it’s probably a mixed bag. On one hand, you may have younger folks who are all about the visual stimuli…the “reaction” once the projectile passes through the target. On the other, you probably have folks 45+, their eyes are not what they once were and they appreciate being able to see a more pronounced ‘hit’….I fall into the latter group.

The last reactive targets I bought and most of them I see for sale leave a fluorescent yellow ring around the hit…has anyone ever considered producing or does anyone manufacture these targets that will respond to a hit with a fluorescent green marker? Just curious, as green is typically the easiest color for the human eye to see.

This would be an interesting demographic for sure!! I'd be curious as to how often the adhesive is actually used, typically the sticker rolls of 2 1/" or 3" bulls eye are the ones we use most often ( buy plenty of larger sight in and silhouette type targets). I avoid buying the larger target if they are adhesive as you just staple them anyway. Most of the time the cover-up dots are a joke, the amount of time to peel and cover-up shots when you can just pin another and go is not worth it. The majority of our use is to get in reps/ sight in and move on.

Have had some at different times with multi-color on the hits, there are some with a green hit vs the yellow just have to look. Had some blue 3" dots that had a faint pink for the hit marker that were absolutely awful, but don't think a 100rd roll cost more than $6 when we got them.

When I'm not shooting steel targets, which is about 90% of the time, this ^^^ is me as well.

What? Like this kind of green?
Yes sir. That's what I had in mind. I have a pile of the yellow reactive targets. Might have to add some of these to it as well so I can compare the two.

I shoot primarily steel when I want to get a few rounds down range here at the house, at the range I’m a member of, or at Battery Oaks. But for sighting in rifles or any other time I want to shoot for groups, I normally use shoot n see stick on’s. I like the green in the ones you referenced John, I think that green will show a little better on bright days if the sun happens to be on your target, versus the bright yellow in other targets

We shoot steel here 99% of the time However I will commit to buy from You for the other times we need Paper. I'd like some solid black that react in green when hit...........3x8 rectangles......8 inch diameter circles.

As for the 3x8 recs, you could likely use some skizzers and cut the targets into any shape/size you want, at least, that’s been my experience with some of the other reactive targets I’ve used.

Same with the ones you linked to.
