Little Caesar’s Outer Banks sign

Reminds me of a time I was at Bojo's and the line was about 12 deep waiting on our food and this old guy said to the mgr, you need to hire some help, there's plenty of people "lookin' a job". And the mgr said no, there's plenty of people "lookin' a paycheck" but very few looking for a job.
 
Nothing has went right for restaurants for 18 months. If not for PPP there wouldn’t be a quarter of them operating.
 
Good on them for giving their folks a day off instead of just working them to death
Ive seen SO many signs recently about folks not being able to find enough help, it's nuts.
Help wanted/needed signed all over the place, seems everyone is hiring...but, as you said, no one WANTS to work.

GF put a two jobs up on indeed or zip, I forget. Got a TON of traffic/inquiries. Set up a dozen interviews, three showed up. People want to look for work, but they dont want to work.

They have to show that they’re looking for work now. The places that offer them a job needs to pass that info off to the Unemployment Department! And they need to be dumped from a paycheck on our dime!
 
I've never had much respect for the panhandlers (lazy scammers) on the road with signs about no job, no money. I call them the ambassadors to WS. Now I have even less respect or patience for them. With every business in the country needing help they have no excuse to claim no job.
 
Unfortunately the requirement to look for a job is left to the unemployed. You can call and if they are hiring, just delete that one and move until the next one is not hiring. Or go in to an interview and pick your nose thru the interview or cuss during the interview so they don’t hire you. Apparently its ok to ride this out until the federal money evaporates.

The employed are fully aware of their position and get in no hurry to complete task and are abusing being late/absent. Who’s gonna fire them?

They were trying to hire a new guy to help run youth activities at my dad's alcohol-leads-to-the-devil church. Apparently one joker's application said his dream was to one day work as a bar tender at a high end strip club.
Needless to say, he didn't get the job - but his application was still accepted and still counted as a required attempt...
