Recommended prep/solutions for long term gun storage? Most of mine never leave the safe and I recently received quite a few more from a relatives passing that I don’t care to handle/shoot but I would never sell.

Short of packing them full of cosmoline, what other options are there?

Agreed. Silicone impregnated gun socks.
If any of the guns are black rifles or scoped rifles, be sure to get socks specifically made for them. The generic ones work well in most cases but don't like to stretch over those.

Depending on quantity I’d wipe them down with a silicone rag, put them in gun socks, and then put them in a separate safe with some desiccant. This way they don’t get bumped over the years and you don’t give up room in the working safe.

Apply Corrosion X to metal parts and put some type of device to pull moisture out of the air.

If you are not going to touch them for a while (every couple years check type) look in to LPS3. Its properties are like cosmoline but not as messy and hard to clean.
