I'm looking a scope with a 30 mm tube that does not have the Side Focus. I've had 2 and just don't care for the side focus. The last was the a Vortex Viper 6x24x50 (if I recall correctly).

Do you know of scopes with a 30 mm tube that doesn't have side focus? also, I don't care for the the tall turrets.

this is going to sit on top of a Rem 700 Stainless Fluted 7mag to be primarily used for deer hunting.
I want to stick with the 30mm tube due to the fact that's the size rings on the rifle now. I might end up changing the rings though.

Budget is less than $1,000. Also, this is not a you don't need a 30mm tube debate either.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Do you dial for wind and elevation?
In other words, you want fixed parallux but open turrets? If so, then fixed power is the only option that I know.
Many nice choices in your price range.

Try Ebay, there are plenty of top quality old European scopes on there for sale.

The Meopta Meostar scopes sound like what you are looking for. From what I can tell from a quick search most are $700-$1000. I have a Meopro (1" tube) that I love.

no, I do not dial for wind. I don't like the tall turrets that a lot of the bigger scopes have. I want something like a 4x16x50/56.

I know it's easy to spend other peoples money but this seems to check all your boxes. I have an Meopta MeoPro 3.5-10x44(1" tube) on my main deer rifle and have been extremly impressed with it. Even with a 1" tube and 44mm obj it is clearer and has better low light performance than scopes that cost twice as much.

You'll need the side focus for any magnification over 10x. Just the way the scopes work at higher magnification.

This on sale for 15-20% off is your best bet for what you're looking for if you can handle the 9x being the top magnification.

Excellent glass and excellent optic with no side focus. Only issue is the tall turret.

For hunting, you can probably use a low magnification scope... also if you're not dialing you may want something with capped or locked turrets.

You can run cheaper 1" scopes by using spacers that go between the scope body and the rings. "step down rings"

If you're not worried about tracking (zero only), you don't have to spend as much $$$ to get what you need.
