Really interested in both calibers. Never owned a 22-250, and the only .223 has been AR rifles. Thinking I want to grab one, or both for target shooting and maybe venture into trying Coyote hunting later on. Looking a Weatherby Vanguard S2 Synthetic .223 and the 22-250 Sporter with wood stock. Will likely mount Nikon Prostaff BDC scopes on both. Anybody have a similar setup....if so how do you like the rifle/s?

You can't go wrong with the Vanguard. I have quite a few and all are shooters. I had a .223 but I've never been a big fan of the .223/5.56 cartridge so I let that one go. If I recall I had an SWFA 10X SS scope on it. If you already own a .223 rifle (AR) then I would go with the .22-250. I don't see why you would want both but when it comes to firearms there is no rhyme or reason. :D I would get the .22-250 and maybe a 6.5 or a .243 in the Vanguard. I have one in 6.5 CM that will shoot less than a MOA out to 500 yards with factory match ammo. Or get all three! :)

Good info! I have a basic configuration A2 style AR rifle. WW 20" Gov rifle. I doubt I'd ever put any optics on it and keep it in it's carry handle iron sights config. This is the main reason behind leaning towards a .223 bolt rifle. I plan to reload some for it as well. I have looked at the .243 before, not too familiar with the 6.5CM though.
