First sling you’ve ever bought? How is this possible?

Granted, I’ve run USGI silent sling (works but can be rigged into a serviceable adjustable sling), Vickers Tactical (were issued down range and enjoyed it but not the best now), Magpul (granted only options I ever used were the MS1 and padding was too thin and tore my neck up on patrol so switched back to my Vickers), Frank Proctor (personal favorite for a while), Edgar Sherman (current newest favorite) and multiples canteen slings (my current go to for a cheap and thick sling and for my retro style builds).

Plus the canteen slings are only like $6.96 shipped on Amazon

Attached is picture of my current set up on my cheap car AR pistol build, ended up with a Daniel Defense A1.5 rear sight instead of a chopped carry handle. Don’t worry about the fake surefire, it’s a placeholder until I put an olight I’m getting dirt cheap on it until I can find a decent deal on a streamlight or surefire

Nothing wrong with having some modern stuff on that there rifle. I once built out a C7 upper (same one I used for my 723 BHD clone) and had a Larue 7” free float quad rail with a surefire 951 attached as well as running a B5 Sopmod stock. Still was lightweight and fun, but eventually I wanted it more clone correct is changed.

Minus my light placement cause I already had an IWC handguard light setup and i prefer it over the barrel mount. Though going to try a barrel mounted one on my next build which will be more of a blood diamond/blackhawk down movie clone

I’ve been thinking about going with the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x or the 1-8x. Website says the 1-8x is 17.6oz, and that’ll be sitting in low mount rings on the carry handle. It’s also a heavy barrel if that gives any idea

Barrel was delivered today. Spikes chrome lined pencil 11.5”
with P&W. So I threw the upper components on and then mounted everything 👍🏻. Hopefully I can get the lower finished up this week and go shoot these soon.

My mount from Primary Arms arrived. I put the 2x prism on the carry handle. Not sure if I like it. I might prefer the prism on a regular flat top mount. It's sitting kind of high up on the carry handle, need to chin weld the stock. This rifle is used in a match almost exclusively from prone. I'm going to give it a chance for one match, then we'll see if it stays.

After a long wait I finally got it together.
A2 upper
16” Del-Ton Heavy A2 mid-length gas
BCM extended birdcage
Centurion Arms C4 MLOK free float handguard
B5 Bravo SOPMOD
B5 Grip
Radian Raptor Charging handle
Fail Zero BCG
BCM stubby
Can’t wait to go shoot it, plan to mount an LPVO or red dot on a gooseneck, although it’s already pretty front heavy
