I recently put a compensator on my M&P 1.0 9mm and now it fires fine with 124 gr, but iffy with 115 gr. I have a 14 lb Wolff recoil spring and guide rod I'm installing to help resolve that issue, but the guide rod is so much longer that the barrel doesn't have enough free play to go over the take down lever as I reinstall the slide on the frame. Is it normal to have to trim the new guide rod down a bit for proper fit and function?
