I picked up an older M&P 9 law enforcement trade in. The trigger is noticeably heavier, and more importantly the reset is longer than any other M&P I have. I short stroked the reset multiple times within the first box of ammo. In the name of consistency, what stock parts would I need to match the feel to my other ones?

I had gun smith delete the magazine disconnect, and he mentioned something about having to install a longer spring to get it to fire after removing the disconnect. Would that have affected the trigger? Thanks in advance.

Not sure, to my knowledge they never made anything special for any dept.

They did change the sear geometry 3? times, housing and trigger bar once at least.

No idea how the mag disco comes into play, might be a different sear housing, but I believe that is all. There were a couple options when I was seeking a large plunger sear housing.

Biggest problem you will likely have is finding OEM parts, S&W randomly decides to make parts available for purchase by the public. Could possibly contact them and get everything upgraded if you're willing to part with the pistol and they're willing to take it. Accounts of their warranty/CS are pretty random too.

I got the most current OEM pieces through G and R Tactical (currently OoS on everything) and I think Midway. Smith did hook me up with the most current followers for my mags though free of charge.

Lowest money and available the Apex fully machined sear is very similar to the performance center sear which I believe has morphed into the production sear in the past few years.

If you web search a bit there are some threads with good pictures of all sear options including Apex. Latest trigger bar is stamped H.

My M&P shield came from the factory with a Massachusetts approved trigger, which was about 10lbs, could be something similar.

The magazine disconnect shouldnt have any bearing on the trigger pull, the larger spring is to just bridge the gap left after removing the disconnect.

Apex is your friend, probably just as easy to replace everything with Apex.

I appreciate the great information guys. Looks like Brownells has a "H" trigger assembly for $15. I will check on some other components.

It looks like I have a red trigger return spring, which may be the Massachusetts complaint one. The spring is visually thicker than others I looked at. Any point in just swapping springs?

It would lighten the pull however is not going to do anything to effect the reset.
