Recently scored a nice inland/Saginaw m1 carbine to add to the collection

Rifle is in the mid 500k range so part of the first batch that went out by inland.

Seems to be a good mix of Saginaw and inland parts given that they were both gm companies thst is not surprising.

High wood type 2 Saginaw stock with a 4 rivet handguard. Seems to have gotten all the other upgrades bayonet lug, safety and mag release. Transverse screw repair that definitely looks old but other than that solid shape

Sling looks reproduction but the mag carrier might be original

How good is he at carrying heavy loads and getting into tight places? I bid $10.

Very nice! I've always liked the M1 carbine. I served with two NCOs who carried M2 carbines when they were in RVN. They both said the M2 was the best jungle gun made.

I recently had two M1 carbines, an Inland I got from the CMP and a Quality Hardware that was a gift from my sister in law. I gave the Inland to my young son when I moved to NC.

The Quality Hardware.

They are fun shooters!
