Bought a m3k that had a +9 extension that worked reliably. Changed to a +4 mag tube and I got a new spring. I cut it to 14" past the extension per MOA. I put 8 rounds in and now it sometimes takes 2-3 presses of the lever to have a round drop.

Is this a symptom of the spring being too long?

Can’t really say, but when I got my MOA extension I followed their instructions and haven’t had a single issue.

I had a hard time searching google, I found 3 possible solutions.

1. Spring is too tight. I already cut it to 10 inches and the problem is still happening on the first 2-3 shells

2. There could possibly be a pin in the carrier latch extractor spring that limits movement

3. I may need to polish the latch

I also put the +9 back on it and it has the same problem as the +4

I do not want to cut more even though I have a replacement spring

I can see about the latch later

I do not have the skill or confidence to polish the latch

Is that a Benelux M1 clone?
If so I had issues, called Brownells smiths, got one that 3 gun competes with one & he pointed me toward Nordic spring & follower. It stopped jamming on the last round.
Give them a call

Kind of. Stoeger is Benelli’s Turkish made brand. Basically an M2 with the recoil spring under the handguard vs in the stock.

So I tested magazine tube alignment and it's not the weight of the shells messing with it.

I also took my +9 extension and the spring I cut for the +4 and tried it. The spring was flush with the extension so I know the spring pressure would not keep the latch closed when it was fully loaded.

Loaded the +9 extension with the +4 spring to full and the first round would not come out with just the lever. Every round after that came out fine but the last one due to no spring pressure.

I emailed moa. See what they say. I think I may need to replace the carrier latch assembly and extractor.
