I've had my Magneto Speed v3 for a couple years now and have a like/hate relationship. I like the convenience of not having a chrono forward of the firing line. I HATE having to mess with the stupid nylon strap mount.

It slips.
It doesn't work well if you have a hand guard that's too close to your muzzle device
It doesn't work well with tapered barrels
It's a general PIA to mount effectively.

So, I tried a couple different aftermarket mounts.

MK Machining?
Definitely designed by an engineer and I'm sure it works perfectly in the lab. On the range, it's finicky and falls short of easy to use. Overall waste of $125.

Magneto speed Rail Adapter?
OK if your rail is right up close to your muzzle. Otherwise, less than useless. And having to reroute all of the straps is a PIA.

I've used a couple others as well.

Well, today I got the Wiser Precision mount. I think this may put me solidly in the "I love my Magentospeed" club. Granted I have not shot with it yet, but by everything I can see it's a rock solid piece of gear. One of those, "huh, well that makes sense" types of things.

Essentially it's a carbon fiber tube with a pic rail mount. On the tube they have a 3D printed mount for the Magneto's display and another 3D printed bracket for the bayonet. The bracket is adjustable for height as well as rotating around the tube. All locks into place with finger turnable set screws.

I have a pic of it aligned to a barrel with thread protector and another with the suppressor in place. Changing that setup tool all of 30 seconds, including twisting on the can.

The 3D printing is pretty rough, but all feels very solid.

I'm pretty sure it'll work for every rifle I have, no matter the barrel profile, length and presence/absence of hand guards.

Sorry for the crap picture, I'll hit the range this weekend and get some action shots

Way cool thinking to build mounts like that! I own a Magnetospeed sporter and so far I haven't had any issues with mounting on my rifles. The only exception are my M1 Garands and the only real answer is to use a traditional chrono with sky screens.

But that makes me think... is one better off getting one of these cool mounts or just getting a traditional chrono to supplement the magnetospeed? Some of the models can be had in the $115 price range, which is comparable to the cost of one of these mounts. Pros and cons to both sides.

I contemplated a traditional chrono, but the benefit of not having something in front of the firing line won out. And, the optical chronic can be inconsistent.
