Not sure why I failed to take pictures, but I had my new Magnetospeed chrono out today.

TL/DR version is that I really like it.

If you can set cost aside (Magneto is considerably more expensive), I don't see why you'd buy an older style chrono. (errr...umm....except you should totally buy the one I'm putting in the BST section later today...).

- no going downrange to setup/tear down. This is really why I like it so much and (for me) the biggest selling point
- no worries about light conditions
- supposedly more accurate, though my old style model (did I mention it will be fore sale?) read within 20fps +/- on the ~15 rounds I ran through both.

Data is saved to an SD card in CSV format, so it'll be easy to parse and load into my home rolled reloading database.

Here's an example of the output:

Series 9 Shots: 5
Min 2705 Max 2718
Avg 2710 S-D 6
ES 13
Series Shot Speed
9 1 2710 ft/s
9 2 2705 ft/s
9 3 2705 ft/s
9 4 2718 ft/s
9 5 2716 ft/s
6.5 CM RL-17 40.5g
WLR, No Crimp
2.810 COAL

Not a terribly exciting thread, but I was pleased with the purchase and wanted to pass that on.

Magnetospeed chronos are awesome and it's one of the best purchases I ever made. I got the budget edition as I didn't need all the bells and whistles. I got the iPhone accessory cable and use the magnetospeed app on my iphone to download the data from the unit.
