Im getting a Ruger SR1911 LW CMD next week and was going to change out the slick'ish wood grips and was looking at new grips and saw Mapul makes MOE grips for the 1911 and was wondering if anyone uses them and if so what do you think of them.

I haven't tried them, but for $20 it is worth a try. I usually buy VZ's but they are quite a bit more $. I like the textures and colors VZ offers. The Magpuls look a bit more utilitarian.

I bought the Magpuls for my first 1911, SA ROO, and then found a great deal on some VZ Operators so I grabbed them as well. I like the look and feel of the VZs better but keep in mind the VZs are very aggressive. I kept the Magpuls and plan on using them on a 22/45 one day

I've used Kensight SharkSkins on my old Kimber and loved them, but I was looking for something less aggressive in pattern but still grippy enough to carry/shot/fight with

Guy over in Canada has some vz grips for sale 25.oo plus 3.00 for shipping, I picked up a set. He also has some black rubber sets for 10.00 plus shipping ,just thought I'd throw it out there in case you're interested in trying the vzs at a decent price

Does he have an ad somewhere with what he has?
