Making the J frame fanbois mad….not me this time!

I will just give the obvious answer to solve it all:

S&W 43C
I have 2 of these, and it is hard for me to imagine that any regular handgun shooter would find them difficult at appropriate ranges. Big dot front sight, no recoil, easy DA pull because of no hammer block. Apparently they are in big demand, hard to find, with seldom seen used ones priced about $600.

We get it. You’ve made it abundantly clear that you think revolvers suck, but that’s more about your personal limitations and preferences than the viability of a revolver as a carry gun.
On the contrary the vast majority of handguns I keep “just because “ are revolvers.
I think someone would be well armed with a Model 625 in 45 acp with moon clips or a Model 15 with a tuned trigger but J frames are sadly lacking in the one role they are designed for,
In a self defense scenario the few things you can control are equipment and training. I do not know of anyone who diligently puts 200 rounds a month though their J frame, It is usually “don’t need to practice to hit across the table” or some other misplaced bravado which will get them killed.
Carry what you need to get the job done, don’t let your hubris get the better of you.

Not every J frame has terrible sights. As far as marksmanship goes, it depends. Maybe you struggle to shoot nice groups. I don’t
Sounds like fun! lets get together sometime and put a few hundred rounds out of a j frame and a G42. We can do some slow fire, a few drills and maybe some long range. It will make a great thread.
I am in Chatham county PM me and we can make plans.

If we're going to hang out we should shoot the really fun stuff. Rimfire raceguns. I'm a fair to midling shooter so don't expect Jerry-like performance.

That said, and I mean no offense, but you don't really seem like my people. Maybe come to a monthly forum meetup first and we can go from there.

Well that is a shame about the J frame, I really enjoy shooting the G42 and would have been interesting how they stacked up.
Best I can manage is a Marlin 39A but always willing to pit old school technology against a modern rimfire bench gun.

Hey a 39A is pretty awesome. But I don't have a "modern rimfire bench gun" unless a CZ 452 or 455 counts. What I do have plenty of is rimfires set up for speed shooting. And some NFA stuff, thermal, night vision, etc. And J frames.

Nothing is more tacticool than running around in the dark with dual high grade Elbits and a S&W 340. The pinnacle of operators operating operationally.
