Making upgrades to the range on the farm

We have a range here on our farm. I've been slowly upgrading it since I moved in.

My latest project was to raid the scrap wood pile to put together a shooting bench. To be all leftover wood, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Went to Lowes today to grab some weatherproof paint for it. Ended up getting a 60 dollar gallon out of the Oops bin for 15 bucks. nice! that reminds me that I probably need to stain my shooting bench out at the range here on the ranch...been a couple years since I built it out of treated wood. She's starting to turn green from mold / mildew
 
A man after my own heart. I bought many things that were odd colors or rejects just to save money.
It’s great when you get that point in your life that other people’s opinions don’t mean anything😁
If I want to impress people I just pull my pants down.

I like it! I buy oops paint often. In my experience if you ask them they will add a dollop or two of something to slightly change the color. I recently bought gray and had them add more black to make it darker.
 
I speak redneck. If you were asking about my backstop it is two layers of 6x6 with three foot long sacrificial pieces of 6x6 in the center of the target areas. That stops everything handgun and longgun I've put through it. The biggest problem is the lead shards that come off the steel. It is very hard on the backstop and I have replaced the 2x4s once already. I will probably put the mig and generator on the trailer and replace the 2x4s with 3/16 angle iron left over from another project.

My phone is case is a pink/purplish color.( close to your bench color) Even though it was bought with a company card I still bought it because it was marked down plus it’s really easy to spot when lay it down

Our range here is simple. The only thing special is that we have around a thousand yards open in line with it.

4x4/chicken wire frame for paper targets and a few steel plates.
