I’ve always wanted one of these and now I have the opportunity to pickup a beautiful pre-war model in 6.5 Mannlicher calibre.

But, here’s the rub, I don’t want to target shoot with it, and I no longer hunt deer… so I question why I need it. (I know I don’t need it but I still want it) I shoot all my other guns, pistol caliber carbines, revolvers, but just never been big into centerfire rifles. So knowing I might only put 5 rounds through her before I put her in the safe, also knowing that it’s an old rare rifle, should I tie up money in it just because it’s something I’ve always wanted?

Buy whatever you even Think might bring you some happiness...you gonna be Dead ALOT Longer than you been Alive.....

If you buy something today that Really pinches your nuts....in 6 months you won't even remember it.

If it looks like this one, I’d probably get it. Sooo cool. Old military rifles don’t interest me, but; a full length beautiful stock, rotary magazine, machine work that fine and detailed is impressive.
Seems like a good investment :D

6.5 MS is an iconic, historical round. Excellent on deer sized game. Ivory hunters used it to kill elephant with brain shots. Its high sectional density makes it penetrate all out of proportion to its paper performance.
