I picked up a Marlin 99C 22 LR from a guy that needed the money more than I need this rifle. I thought it was a model 60 but it's a 99C. I gave him more than he was asking because we'll, he really needed the money. I don't need this thing and will probably sell it once I get an idea of what it's worth. No rust and blueing is good but the stock has some scratches and dings. What say y'all on what I should sell this plinker for.

I bought one two years ago for $50. I was offered $85 for it a few months later and sold it. It was in good shape. Stock was dinged up, but everything else was good.

I was going to say $100 or so at least. If fires and functions a .22 semi auto should be worth at least that in today's climate.

I would ask $150 or just keep it. Don't know how much you paid for it though.
I gave him 150 but he needed the cash for a tough situation. He was asking 100 and I gave him 150 just because I knew what his situation was. Thanks, I think I'll list it in the for sale area. I appreciate all of the replies.

About 2 years ago, I paid a woman $350 for, get this, a Maverick 88 12ga with only the 28” bbl (the 18” bbl that usually came with the set was in the wind). I was the one who set that price; it’s not like the desperate mother even had any idea how little the shotgun is actually worth. The fact her daughter was trying to escape from an over-the-top violent abuser and meth head ex was (still is) well known to LE agencies in surrounding counties so, I knew for sure the money was gonna make a difference … wound up getting a letter from the survivor daughter / young mom a year later, thanking my wife and I … I have it hanging in a part of the basement level where I have to see it at least once a week … as a reminder to talk with my granddaughter, when she gets older …

Hope that .22 brings you either fun, good memories or, if you’re ever looking for it, a profit.

I bought one through an auction a few years back for way too much money. A young lady with twins was watching her husband waste away to cancer and the forum held an auction. I knew that I would never get my money back out of it. But it's fun to shoot every now and then and my youngest son will eventually take it with him. Like was stated above, I like to think I helped ease her financial struggles a little.
