A local pawnshop has a Marlin Glenfield with the squirrel stock for $125 (pretty firm). It looks to be to be in fair to good shape with most of the wear being scratches on the top of the receiver. I know the folks who have the older Glenfields love them but the price seems a little high. Thoughts?

The price is a little high...but lets be honest, its like $15-20 bucks at most. You would waste that in time and gas getting one for cheaper anywhere else.

Thanks. For some reason I was thinking they were $80-$100 guns.

I paid $100 for an 18 shot mag length, last shot bolt hold open (1989 last year of both) with the inspected by Phil B sticker still attached.

    I think I did well.

$100 is about the going price on them.

The wife traded a pair of baby ball pythons for one many years ago. She had $3.00 in each snake. She still has the rifle. Now that's pretty good tradin'

I bought a plain stocked one a few years ago in a pawn shop for $95. If you want one with the squirrel stock, $125 isn't a bad price. They're less common, and you can always sell it for what you've got in it later.

    If it’s what you want ... what’s 20 bucks?

Thanks for the input. I am going to let it sit a few days and see if the guy will come down a bit in price.

$125 OTD (no tax) with the squirrel stock is a fair price. I'd offer him $110 OTD and hold firm.

I bought one of those for $90 and sold it to a good buddy for $90.
He cleaned it all up and refinished the wood. It came out nice. He trade-valued it away for $150 towards another gun.

That gun was my “A Christmas Story” present at 8 yrs old but way before the movie. My dad even did the cheesy hide the present thing. Mine’s not for sale and I have something in my eye.
