- for the opossum my GSD flushed into the pond this morning?

It was swimming in circles and instead of letting it drown we decided to dispatch it.. Handed the 590 to my kid, he pulled the trigger and it disappeared with a big splash..

I don't think there is enough left of it to bloat and float so hopefully the bass enjoy the meal.

Careful, there fella:

thats jededia wakefield, from the infamous carter-wakefield. a brutal family feud that lasted almost 90 years.

its important to know your states history and its a shame this is never discussed in schools anymore.

Actually, that specific image is from The Twilight Zone episode The Hunt: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0734646/

Arthur Hunnicutt starred in this TZ episode as well as in the Mayberry RFD episode A Feud is a Feud https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0512389/

They're ugly as sin, but they eat ticks n don't carry rabies. Started giving them a pass once I learned that.

Shoot all the raccoons and tree rats you want. Leave the possums be.

They can eat all the ticks they want but they also harass my chickens and are a threat to chicks, eggs and egg production..

I have no problem eliminating that threat and will continue to do that with a loud boom and a smile on my face.. :D

My dam dogs have killed 12 this year in my backyard. I just scraped one up yesterday that was bad. I bathed both dogs today. I have a possum infestation.

I'd eat the hell of some tree rats. Tasty little rat bastards, they are. 'Coons are tasty too, but I don't know how to cook 'em.

I totally get the predation issue. Gotta protect yer stock. Possums would occasionally come up to our pasture fence to grub on the watermelon rinds, corn cobs & the like, that we'd pitch over the fence for the cattle to munch. Never saw 'em when we had chickens, tho. Only issue we ever had with 'em was my grandma's dog treeing one in the yard & barking its fool head off.
