London authorities are hoping to literally stem the bleeding in response to a knife crime epidemic that's plaguing England and Wales.

The City of London Police announced Monday that hundreds of bars and nightclubs across the city will be soon be outfitted with specialized medical equipment meant to treat catastrophic bleeding from stab wounds.

Maybe that's what we need in every school, movie theater, concert hall, and Walmart. And it won't go to waste if they ban all guns since we'll be just like Britain and start stabbing each other

That policy will enable them to attack more citizens.
Lot of it is gang on gang and it skills into the ER's.
Life in the ER UK version.

While I think its silly to a point, I cant really ever think its a bad idea for restaurants and public places to be prepared for catastrophic events. I mean, many of us keep trauma kit in our cars/packs and stuff...so why is it so silly to have a nice kit in a bar or restaurant. Heck, back when I worked in restaurants I saw people get sliced up in the kitchen all the time and a nice big ol first aid trauma kit would have been better than wrapping it in dish rags and rushing to the ER.

Hmm... Mandatory trauma/first aid kits in public places, DUH!

The government doesn't have to buy them, just mandate that locations have them. They should anyway. Not exactly a major expenditure and beneficial to all. Could come under the purview of the fire department along with extinguishers.

There would also be mandatory training.

More government, what could go wrong

Then comes mandatory licensing, and inspections, certifications, required certifications to get a business license, and a whole host of bureaucrats who's job depends on extracting revenue from people.

It sounds like a good idea, until you let it fester in .gov for a while and it turns into another way to extort the populus in the name of 'safety'.

we have fire extingusihers and defibs out there....
Exactly. Just add a certified medical kit so that it's available to anyone that needs to use it. Inspections are just to verify its stocked and useable. Actually, I once picked up a kit that said something about meeting OSHA specs, do I think there's already a standard. I think the difference would be the trauma piece. And just like AED's, include big pictorial instructions for anyone to understand. Mount them by the extinguishers, so they're easy to find.

Everyone is so adverse to rules and regulations, but some standards are good, like lines on a highway, traffic signals, etc.
