Been looking for an extra magazine for my Taurus tcp 380. The original factory mags are like finding a unicorn. I can find pro mags around for sale but no MecGar. Reviews I have seen say the MecGar mags are better and pro mags are hit and miss for reliability and quality. Has anyone had any experience with these brands of magazines? Thoughts? Suggestions?

MecGar makes most factory handgun mags. I mean alot!! They make great mags. I have used them in a few different guns with never a problem.

Promag are hit and miss. I bought 4 of their 10 rounders for my shield. 2 worked fine 2 need adjusting to make run. I don't recommend promag at all.....

Never had a bad Mec Gar mag...never heard of a bad one.

Bypass all the vendors and find Mec Gar's website. They might have ones for your Taurus. I bought some direct for my Taurus PT 92.

I've got several Mec Gar .38 Super 1911 mags...perfect.

Mecgar also makes all (or most) CZ mags.

I buy all my mags from Greg Cote, like Button Pusher. Good service, fair prices, fast shipping.

Doesn't pro mag make that roller mag for AR's? I would like to try one of those. Just because.

Mecgar mags all the way. I have several Mecgars, for several different firearms, for several years and have never had any magazine related issues. They have all run flawlessly.
The only experience I've ever had with ProMags was less than positive. I had six Promags for AR's and two of them wouldn't run in one rifle, two different ones wouldn't run in another rifle, and none of them would run in a SBR. I would get one or two failure to feeds and/or double feeds every time a problem mag got loaded.
I promptly got rid of them all and haven't used a Promag since then.
