Looking for MGRS maps for a few locations around NC.
Yeah, not many released, hard to find, yadda you.

I thought I had found a source a while back but my search Foo is failing me at the moment.

MGRS is just a reference system, either a 1km or 10km grid, right? You looking for that over a topo map? Printed?

I believe that I have the tools to build this for anywhere in the world, real challenge is finding free topo maps of the desired resolution at the desired location. If you’re looking for gamelands maybe https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/...th-carolina-geological-survey/topograhic-maps if other locations USGS might have something.

I’m as busy as a one-armed paper hanger, but if you can’t find what you want shoot me a note with a location and I’ll give it a shot.

Thank you @JimB , much appreciated .
I'll be in touch when I run out of places to look.

If you look closely, most (all?) 1:24,000 USGS maps are marked with 1000m tic marks on the borders. These correspond with the MGRS coordinates. Using an ultra-fine marker and straight edge you can grid them. There are several places online that sell 1:24,000 protractors for those who use them. Military protractors are 1:25,000

I had forgotten all about this thread.
I ended up using an app called Hawk Map Pro. Obviously not paper but it nearly fulfills my need for MGRS.
