MidwayUSA...poll

I ordered some S&W magazines just in time to miss the free shipping. :(

Ive only been to their site a few times ever - is this a common thing that they do?

If you’re on their email blast, lately it’s been “one day only” free shipping for the last couple weeks.

On the items that I order from them the shipping is always reasonable anyway. I've never ordered ammo or anything heavy though.

Midway has done me right. Just ordered a new buttstock and grip. Even with shipping it was the deal.
And Midway was one of the very few who stood with us after that sandy hook when others caved overnight. If it cost me a few more dollars with them I don't really have a problem with that. I remember.

I think midway is a good business. I buy what my wife considers a lot from them and it is always timely and exactly what I ordered. They have great sales on hunting gear (coats, boots, etc) starting in February. Good business

I have traded with Midway for over 25 years and have always been satisfied with them. I drove past Columbia, Missouri a couple of months ago on a western trip and wanted to stop and visit their brick and mortar store, but the timing didn't work out.

Oh...my OP was not meant as a slam on their business. I bought tons of stuff from them. It was a chiluckle at the never ending 1 day only sale

Only issue I've ever had is they can't seem to package ammo for shipping. The MO is lay ammo in bottom of box. Put plenty of padding on top:confused: they do have great CS and I use them quite a bit, but that's obnoxious.

Everywhere else groups ammo boxes together, tapes bubble wrap around them tightly plus pads over AND under. After explain this to midway CS several times they still don't get it. But hey I'll take the store credit or storage boxes they offer when I do call.....

Me too. I picked up a few magazines, and a medium backstrap for my M&P 9 police trade in.

I try unsubscribing to their emails but no luck as of yet.

how many consecutive days will Midway advertise “ONE DAY ONLY !!! FREE SHIPPING!”

365!! They know folks are suckers for "deals."

Both Midway and Brownells have sent those emails about twice a week since late summer???

The previous Midway free shipping was only on full price items. That's why I couldn't use it in the discounted magazines. Seems today's deal is good on everything.

Has it been consecutive days? Brownells has been having better deals on frt. Today is $5 off $25 and free frt. Larry and Pete dont like each other I'm told. Loving their competition for my $.

I use Midway frequently, and I get the free shipping email blast all the time. Two weeks ago picked up 2 thousand rounds of 556 with the free shipping it came to .25 cents a round, so I'm not gonna complain

To be fair, Brownells does the same damn thing. Coupon codes every week, "1 day only" free shipping every other day. Not complaining though, there's not much I like more than a great deal!

They both do this so often that I just build up my wish list on each site and wait for a really good deal to come along before pulling the trigger.

They sent me some ammo recently in a large box with other items. Plenty of packing on top of everything, but non on sides or bottom. The small, 50-round .22 box broke open and spilled out inside the larger shipping box. Fortunately I was able to recover all but one of the .22 rounds.
The bad part is, I don't know if I have a rogue .22 round floating around my house now for the kids to get to (swallowing lead exposed bullets seems bad). I looked everywhere the box traveled inside the house, vacuumed and even dragged a magnet around to make sure the round wasn't in the house. But it will always be in the back of my head!

I contacted them and let them know what happened. They were polite and said they would look into it. Hopefully they do a better job with ammo shipping next time.

They wont. They set me a $250 Jewell trigger in a small flat padded mailer. Bolt release was sticking out of the mailer when i got it. They got it back. Broken box of Lapua brass mailed in a large padded mailer instead of box. Broken open boxes of bullets, etc. They dont pack to prevent damage. They pack to reduce their shipping cost.

Yeah, their "Nitro shipping" leaves alot to be desired...

Again, Midway is one of my go to sites. But I know that if I order ammo, the boxes will NOT be ok, at the least damaged, at worst loose rounds just rolling around. CS always offers store credit or sends me plastic boxes to store them in.

Its still silly as all hell. Call CS and tell them their ammo shipping process results in damaged boxes. "OH? really? we will take that into condsideration sir, but to make it right we will happily offer you this or that......

They need a different process for ammo. The end. Still a go to for things but I'm always wary about ammo..... After years of the same I'd think they would have fixed it. But same old, same old..... Guess I'll continue to enjoy free money and free other stuff from them until they decide to put in the effort to fix an easy problem...

As a sidebar. I don't use Brownell's for the simple fact that I find the site decidedly difficult and confusing to navigate. Guess we can't have it all, all the time...

...and seems there's always a catch to the "free" shipping. Minimum order, certain items, etc.

True...but today's deal is on all items.

I don't suppose that covers Hazmat fees?

Lucky for you and your wallet.

I've always wanted to have a furniture store. I'd have two-sided signs. One side will say Grand Opening Sale. The other side will say Going Out of Business Sale.

The marketing plan will be to turn the sign around twice a year.

I was purchasing some 22 norma mags that where on clearence for $6.83each , when I punched in my credit card info a box popped up that said someting in my cart had changed. I looked in the cart but didn't see any thing different I still had my 4 mags except the price suddenly jumped to 14.99 each. Piss on them they can keep em.
